I would feel better about our chance to finish top 10 if we were not already at 18 commits. Hoping staff was on the money with some of our 3 star commits. I’ll be holding my breath until this class is fully enrolled because frankly the academic challenges some of our top recruits had last cycle surprised me. Maybe staff is still ramping up.
Winning takes care of everything.
I think this class will finish similar to last year's class talent wise (in that 3rd tier cluster of teams ~#9). But with fewer DNQ risks.
And I'm not an insider but the changes in the back office recruiting staff are smoke that Mullen believes somethings are needing improvement.
Class did not finish number 9, as has lost Black, Hammond, Steele, Jones, and unknown if Henderson will enroll after completion is a summer online class or Wilson will get his visa issue resolved. Either way, loss of 4 known players drops us to 17 and loss of 5 or 6 drops us outside top 20, if redoing rankings based on Fall actual enrollment of all HS students
When does Bowman hit the portal now that Etienne decides to stay at Clemson for another year? Of course, Dab, the used car salesman he is, has probably convinced both of them that this is for the best for both of them, when everyone else can clearly see this robs Etienne a year of his professional career with no draft advantage and sets Bowman back a year.
It didn't hurt Chubb stock to come back to UGA buuuuut it did hurt Bryce Love's stock going back to Stanford. We'll see but you cant just assume his stock will drop
Or maybe kids will simply play for who they want to play for, and for as long as they'd like to stay, with the draft will taking care of itself. Hope they both do well.
Oh, he's going to stay there because that's where his mommy wants him to be...
Who cares...He is not playing for us!
...but I bet he now wishes he was.
I think most everyone, including DB, thought Etienne was gone.
He may be ok with his decision still, but this is why I wouldn't sign early if I had any doubt.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt Chubb have an injury and had reason to show he came back at full strength? Too much is at stake with a RB who are a dime a dozen in the NFL if they are projected in first 3 rounds. They need to get to that 2d contract as early as possible with how short their career will be.
FFixed iit ffor yyou!
Maybe my glasses are not O&B enough, but it seems like those two, fresh and sharing time, occasionally on the field together, might be a nightmare for opponents and have a lot of fun together. Bowman learns as he goes.
I remember playing in the backfield with a buddy who was a great athlete and we had a ball for a couple of years.
Not a hard sell.
I agree but Chubb had the injury in 2015 as a sophomore, came back the very next season as a junior but still came back for his senior year in 2017.
Michel could have came out too after 2016 but stayed too. Didnt hurt either one. I agree RB's should get out asap but staying doesn't automatically drop your stock
