What about Melania’s anchor baby? Any thoughts on that?

You might want to look up the definition of an anchor baby

Everyone of us is either an immigrant or was born into a family that immigrated here at some point, save the first people.
So you question a recent immigrant?

Interesting. So now you are targeting citizens in addition to legal immigrants?

It’s right up there with denying the Holocaust and ‘men in women’s sports.’ It’s like they wake up one day and say “I’m gonna dedicate my life to shoving my bullshit down everyone else’s throat.”

Citizenship? What is its purpose, specifically?

I am totally against anchor baby citizenship, but think even if Trump was able to get it over turned all anchor babies already here would be grandfathered in.

Ahh yes . . . the "shut up or go home" trope has entered. Such depth of thought. Coming soon: Ban Cinco de Mayo! Not murican enough! And of course you are right that "idiots from other countries" have no right to protest in the U.S.

Yes, you oppose the Constitution, we are aware. So then what is the whole "For now" comment, if you aren't targeting a citizen (which she is)?

I'm in a similar situation. As a Descendant of Florida Pioneers, my ancestors were living in Florida before it was part of the US. Some were born in Florida before 1845 so technically, they weren't American citizens unless the US was granting US citizenship to children born outside of the US to US citizens. What I've not yet determined is .... how many generations of my family lived in Georgia and North Carolina after arriving from Scotland, England etc before immigrating to Florida. The only record I have before 1820 is the participation of some paternal ancestors in the Battle of Culloden.

Most arrived before the law was introduced to make it illegal (or impose a head tax). I believe the law was adopted in response to "the green wave".

But we're first and foremost, a nation of laws. "Rule of law."

If y'all are so deadset agsinst the immigration laws...

    ...seek to change the law.

In the meantime, it's the height of hypocrisy to champion "rule of law," while simultaneously championing objectively, selective non-enforcement of a particular law you find inconvenient to enforce.

....and spare me the humanitarian sob story, bc none of the "let's ignore the immigration laws" champs give half a shit about the ppl. Left behind in the countries the illegals come here from, and even less than half of that, for the ppl who legit try to respect the laws b4 coming here, and work within the existing law structure.

Yall just want your cheap ass labor, ppl to mow your lawn, pick your fruits, wash your dishes...

...and keep'em in the shadows (like modern day slavery).

TBL: If that's REEEALLY your position...campaign on, and move to...

    CHANGE. THE. LAW.

Of course, none of the hypocritical left, will EVER dare do so.

    I wonder why not...

My fathers side of the family was pretty easy to trace because my great grandmother in that line had 3 sisters married to Hatfields, one the wife of Devil Anse so that line has been traced multiple times. Since Cap & Jonse Hatfield were cousins of my grandfather also Governor Henry D Hatfield was a cousin of his those lines have been traced time and time again.

So this American born elected official comes out and says she is a proud Guatemalan first? The same Guatemala that that is dirt poor with over 50% of the population living in poverty? And the same Guatemala that is ridden with violent crime?

The lady is an idiot but again, if she really feels that way, she needs to move to that tropical paradise.

I am not against the Constitution at all. i just think that what was meant by the 14th Amendment is not what it has morphed into
