Elite 11: Ranking the QBs After Day 2 of the Elite 11 Finals

"1. Carlos Del Rio - Loganville (Ga.) Grayson

    Grade: 2.47, 12 money throws

Del Rio, a Florida commitment, set the tone from his first few throws and his accuracy and timing never slowed down through nearly 20 throws. He was accurate to all three levels and his velocity never tapered off despite being one of the night’s final acts. His confidence grew with each throw and it showed in a big way. It appears the on-hand staff docked him points for rpm/spiral consistency."

247 Sports noticed he tied his shoes poorly before he threw and though liked his performance are dropping him down to an 85. “While he dominated in a camp setting, we need to see more”

I read an article that said he started off really well on day one but missed a few throws towards the end of the drill ... dropping his ranking to 11th for the day. Day two - not so much ... he started off hot and got even hotter.

I know his backup's dad (from McEachern) and he always told me Carlos is the real deal. Apparently he has been working non-stop since the covid shut down. I'm guessing his trainer just got booked up for the rest of the year.

I gotta say Del rio looks good... his accuracy in those workouts just stands out to me. Crisp mechanics and throws really well on the move. Very fluid with his movement.

From my friend who is there watching his son compete. Del Rio looks really good. Physically opposing. Big thick kid.

Caleb Williams won the MVP. It was said that 75% of the MVP award was based on last year's film and 25% based on the camp.

Carlos was definitely top 5 at the camp ... most likely top 3.

I'm really glad he is a Gator.

Agile and athletic in Jr highlights. He'll be a great run threat based on what the D is going to have to give because of his passing acumen.

Caleb Williams was going to win the MVP earned or not!! He looked good and not saying he didn't earn it, it was just predestined.

I'm very dang happy we have an athletically gifted young man and QB who Wants be a Gator. More dang happy for the young man he is off the field!!!

    Go Gators

Better than Trask. Probably not as good as AR or EJ.

The young man looks to have a stronger arm as a senior in HS than the other Del Rio as a Gator senior. His rating should blow up this year at his new school. The QB room should look good in ‘21 - in arms, legs and numbers.

Ended up 6th in the comp. His day 2 throws were money in the pro style simulation with many questioning his score, as he looked the best of the day though scoring middle of the pack. Then day 3, which should favor the DT QB because of having to roll out for some throws on target, he had the second best time. Then on top of that he is athletic and looks thick. This guy has some serious upside. Not quite the size, speed, and athleticism of AR, but he looks like a guy that could be highly effective in Mullen's offense.
