word is that some feel Humphries is JAG and won’t be much of a player here but we’ll see. Not sure if Lee has gotten snaps this year but it wouldn’t be a shocker if he doesn’t see the field much outside of blowouts or injuries

Humphries, Lee, Goods, and Thomas are the DTs that haven't played. Lee will probably see PT if he gets healthy, otherwise we have 5 DTs in the regular rotation right now.

Not a great sign for a dt to want to transfer for lack of playing time three games into a true freshman year.

Not going with you on this one if Taylor enters the portal. He's a true freshman with too much talent and potential to pass over and especially so since UF came in #2 on his original decision. He would have been the crown jewel of UF's 21 class. If this happens, I hope he comes in January.

True, if it’s he wants to play now or he quits, that’s a different story. I’d think our staff will do their do diligence. We won’t hear the verdict but they will.

Promised playing time last game and didn't see it. He'll obviously get PT this weekend since they're playing Central Connecticut

Suspect that this isn't the first time he has been mislead by Miami. I imagine it took promises to get him to come to Miami that have since been broken to have Taylor this upset. Whatever it is, I hope he comes to UF if he enters the transfer portal. Taylor would move to the top of my list.

Not when you were told you were going to play from game 1, and that is why you went there.

they told him he’d be getting reps as a SSDE which was also a reason he went to UM but as of today, he hasn’t appeared on the two depth anywhere through their first 4 games

My impression that he was a bit of a tweener and surprisingly highly ranked, but if he can do what Carter does earlier than Carter was able to do it in our defense, by all means pull out all the stops to land him from the portal.

Taylor is 6'3"/305 as true freshman per the Miami roster. So he is a DT with SDE skills, can play inside and outside? That would be an outstanding addition, but in no way is he a tweener at that size. Carter plays at 285 as a redshirt senior. Carter's best DT use inside is on pass rushing downs. I wouldn't want Carter inside on running downs, doesn't have the bulk to to help keep OL out of the back 7.

With Jean Delance leaving, Taylor can have his #56 to boot. ;)

The best dt in the nfl is 285 so I’d have to see him to really have a idea . Not sure what he really brings to the table.

I don't follow or watch the NFL, but I find it hard to believe a 285 DT is the best the NFL has to offer. Is it because the NFL is pass happy instead of running the ball? I'd have to think that has a lot to do with a 285 DT being so prized at the next level.

No, I just find it hard to believe. Who is this best DT in the NFL who is so good he is considered to be #1 in the NFL? I'm skeptical, bring me proof.

Not only that, I could see Leonard Taylor growing into a 320 lb. monster who has SDE speed, but plays both DT positions plus SDE on demand. Maybe he can play rush DE too.

    1. Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams
Donald is the best player in the National Football League, and I’m not sure it’s particularly close. He’ll go down as one of, if not the best interior defender of all time. His six straight first-team All-Pro honors match the record set by Reggie White, who is widely considered one of the top 10 players in league history.

Donald has 46.5 sacks over the past three seasons. He appears chiseled out of stone and is one of three metahumans in the NFL. He’s currently the best of the three using his superpowers, though.
