Grimes is still a 4.4-ish guy..."To that end, receiver Trevon Grimes also turned in some head-turning times. According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, Grimes clocked unofficial 40-yard dash times between 4.35 and 4.42 seconds."

Grimes never got to show what he could do after the catch either for better or worse. I mean as far as being in the open field too

Maybe someone creates a Grimes snubbed by NFL thread instead of talking about Grimes in a three month old
    Daquan Newkirk To UF thread?

Agreed. As WRs go I think we should stay focused on Newkirk’s WR abilities... he’s gonnen be a good one.

I stand corrected. Makes me wish our RT could have given Trask more time for deep balls.

On second thought, if he makes a roster and goes on to a successful career, maybe he did make the right choice.

    Just emphasis.
    T×D×E = Working talent.
Or talent on the field "right this minute" after all the strength training and footwork drills.

D is a number that can be less than 1, if your coaching actually makes players "worse" over time. (Think McElwain and players having to hire personal trainers to buff up.)

E is a number greater than 1, where 1 means an all-Freshmen team reporting to Spring Camp.

The important thing is that S and L "add" up. You can make up for a lack of leadership with scheming, or a lack of scheming with on field leadership. It's better to have both...

He didn't progress as much as a senior should have this last season. Too many drops and not enough refinement in his route running to create space. I think he was one of those guys who focused too much on peripheral noise (throughout his four years) and not enough on the details of advancing from a good to a great player. Very glad we had him at a time when we needed receivers, but, not sure he took full advantage of all his opportunities here.

Maybe he did reach his potential, who knows. Many others receivers developed quite well so the coaching is proven. Maybe he was dedicated and maybe not.
