    Heard that I believe but not sure. He has had his performance issues for 2 years now though so I think it is more than just an injury last year but I have no idea. Just working off what he has shown on the field for 2 years now.

    You know we have to recruit JUCOs and transfers, right? They don’t just show up.

    Based on the reaction from my Auburn friends/coworkers this is a big pickup.

    All this talk about whether something "counts" as recruiting is funny to me. If JuCo and transfers don't "count" as recruiting, then what you call "recruiting" isn't as important.

    Big picture that makes a championship team is something like

    T = total talent composite
    D = player development
    E = average years experience
    S = scheming / playcalling
    L = leadership on the field

    (S + L)×(T×D×E)

    Transfers raise T and E, but only for a year or two each. If you pull them in every year the impact is huge.

    Big fan of Shelton and Newkirk pickups. If they stay healthy I’d say they are by far our 2 biggest pick ups.

    Won't say he can't do it, but his high school team was a run dominant team, so I don't know how early the coaches will unleash him from OG to OT. It's on Hev to get him ready because Braun came to UF with an SEC ready physique.

    Absolutely. If we don't get both of those DT to plug a gaping hole in recruitment, our defense is going to be a disaster again in 2021. If we don't get Bowman, our offense may not skip a beat. Big difference in need for 2021 making the pickups totally different, and it's not even close.

    This isnt true. The portal is very much an active part of recruiting nowadays. The Covid era has simply highlighted that fact. coaches xan no longer be one dimensional in their recruiting strategies.

    Excited about DB but he wasn’t a must get. The DT’s were and both should be very solid additions.

    Uhh, the O is going to skip a beat. Quite a few IMO with the loss of one of the best TE’s ever and one our greatest QBs ever (IMO). Hoping it will be offset by a much improved D.

    I wasn't referring to last year's offense versus the upcoming offense. I was referring to our offense with or without Bowman.

    Opting out of the bowl game to "prepare for the NFL draft" was a mistake, too. He apparently hadn't really shown enough before then, and, he would have been the prime target in that game. He should make a team as an UDFA though.

    Yep, Trask made him look good. Got some bad advice somewhere. Said it before and wasn’t received well. Never saw him as a sure thing this year as far as getting drafted.

    For a big guy Grimes didn't do a lot of the things you would expect like high point and use his body to shield, and losing his 4.4 speed from high school, he was not the deep threat as much either. There just are not as many roster spots in the NFL for a blocking WR who can smash into the end zone over CB on gadget plays. He will have to be a special teams maniac to make a roster.

    Toney made himself some cash for coming back. Not sure grimes would have but it would have been in his best interest to try
