So Mullen has not put this nonsense to bed? Not impressed. Hope you are not.
I don't know why everyone is getting so worked up. Any of us would, and should, at least listen to other opportunities that come our way. Why should DM be any different?
I don't think possible departure of a coach, whether getting fired or taking other job rumors, can be used against teams in recruiting like it once was now that it looks like players will be given an opportunity to transfer without having to wait out a year. The early signing period means he doesn't need to rush to make a statement since this year's recruiting class is largely done.
I have no idea who this guy is or how credible he is. Today was the first I heard of him. About two mins of his 27 min podcast is question about Mullen to the NFL. His source says it is Mullen’s people putting his name out there seeking NFL jobs. Is it contract posturing?
Don't have the like or agree buttons, so I agree.
Good read. Sounds like lots of stuff going on behind the scenes.

So the UAA is still a problem? I'm shocked.
These guys make it sound almost inevitable.
GT Roundtable: Dan Mullen and the NFL; most intriguing positional battle in 2021; 2020 season grade
Really good excerpt here...
And here’s where you throw in who Dan Mullen is. He didn’t just magically and suddenly start struggling with PR this year. He’s always been a brusque, stubborn and at times downright arrogant New England Yankee- and before you mistake that as an attack of Mullen’s character, that personality is paired with a man who is universally regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the game, a man who is generally loved by his players and assistants, and a man who will refuse to quit a film room session until he finds a particular mismatch he can exploit on game day. There are a lot of good things that come with that personality, such as, you know, wins. Mullen has more of them than any coach in Mississippi State history not named Jackie Sherrill, and he earned 28 of them in Gainesville faster than anybody else before him, including Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer.
I agree that Dan should be aware of, and explore, any and all opportunities of interest. What is troublesome is that it has blown up in the media to the level that it has. What kind of message does it send to a potential recruit that the coach that is trying to sell them on a university isn't completely sold on it himself?
He can denounce rumors, or even just proclaim his commitment to the University of Florida. The exploration can continue behind closed doors.
My personal view is, if he isn't happy here, as bad as it will be for him to leave, what must be done eventually, should be done immediately.
That said, I hope he will stay for 10 years minimum.
I disagree. You don't always have to listen. If he's where he wants to be, and is being paid handsomely, then be all in.
The incomparable Wink Martindale!
It may not be Dan’s fault. It’s almost as if he’s muzzled. On one hand I wish DM would address it.
to say the least.
Because Dan and his agent are the ones putting the feelers out. I don’t see that as listening to opportunities I see that as trying to make new opportunities.
Whew, I thought you were taking a dig at Coach Mullen at first. lol
Whoops, I fixed it.
Business decision on his agents counsel
This is absolutely discouraging to see while other SEC programs are making moves. What gives?
So no coach for safeties and corners..... so 2020
It will reach a point very soon where we will have to move on without Mullen, even if Mullen doesn’t have a NFL job on the table. I hope we won’t come to that but I certainly can see it happening soon.
