    Rubio? Why would you want our 7th or 8th best RB to get more playing time? Unless it indicates we are way way ahead (which aint happening lol)

    If you rank our RB's by yardage - Rubio is in 4th place.

    If you rank our RB's by average (yards per run) - Rubio is in 2nd place.

    If you rank our RB's by carries - Rubio is tied for 5th place.

    If you rank our RB's by longest run - Rubio is in 4th place.

    None of our 8 RB's (incl. Lags making a 9th RB in the stats) have had any TD's except for Baugh with 3.
    ==========

    *I don't know where you got "7th or 8th best RB" from.......but what I posted are the statistics from ESPN:

    Florida Gators 2025 College Football Players Stats - ESPN

    ==========

    We are a bit banged up at the position. So I see no problem with my initial comment "Would also like to see Anthony Rubio get more playing time."

    Thanks!

    Come on

    anthony r’s stats come from run the game out situations. he isnt a viable option for more carries with the game in doubt. He isnt a Will Shipley or Jacob Hester type kid.

    I appreciate the varied topics that distract from the fire now threads but what is happening to posters around here, the rate of BDS is frightening.

    Im sure you realize Rubio got those garbage carries vs Long Island and those stats are largely meaningless. And while im sure he is a great kid and teammate, he is a 5-9 walkon who simply doesn't have the size or skills to compete in the SEC beyond a cameo in garbage time. Props to him for working hard and helping the team, but every scholarship back on our roster is better. I would imagine he would acknowledge that as well.

    You're entitled to your opinion but why don't you go ahead and list the other RB's you rank above him - and what games did they play in that in your opinion put them ahead of Rubio?

    And BTW......you know who else is a walk on?

    Yes, and Spierto is not in our top wr group either. Smart hard working kids can make a play, especially on special teams. By and large kids that lack physical skills sets cannot play regular downs vs quality competition
    Baugh, Jackson, Webb, Clark, Daniels, and yes Louis who is redshirting unless injuries force him to play are all more talented. Are we really having this conversation? Do you really believe Rubio has the talent to be effective vs TAMU? Do you really believe he can or should play ahead any of those guys?

    Yeah I planted the love right on Bazza, lips and all! The man is awesome. He has the best online personality that I’ve ever seen. I literally thought that one day in my car. He’s optimistic to a fault which then makes it not a fault and he just sees the good in everything and I can dig that.

    Whatever you are, being more like Baz is probably good for you. He might be a lot of one thing (not sure what) but that thing is probably better than what you or I are.

    Lol.

    Now I realized that probably doesn’t make much sense to you all but I mean it 100%
    :):cool::p:D:eek:

    Rubio is 100% Gator and a tough, smart young man. I, for one, am glad he’s with us. If his number is called he will give it his best.

    Whoa Nelly.....lol.....

    You said:

    "Baugh, Jackson, Webb, Clark, Daniels, and yes Louis who is redshirting unless injuries force him to play are all more talented."

    OK, let's start with comments by Billy regarding the health of our RB group:

    "It's TBD." -- Napier on RB spot behind Baugh with Ja'Kobi Jackson, Duke Clark, Treyaun Webb nursing injuries ... Clark left Saturday's game and Jackson missed it ... Napier says they will see who is back in practice.

    So of the 6 you listed.....3 are "nursing injuries". And may not be available to play. This is important because the initial comments I made were about playing in Saturday's game.

    You said:

    "Do you really believe he can or should play ahead any of those guys?"

    I never said such a thing. Here's what I wrote:

    BTW - every one of those runs were by Baugh but we also had Duke Clark run 9 for 38 yards and VBII had 1 for 14 yards in the game. I'm hoping we can get Ja'Kobi Jackson back soon as he is our #2 rusher this season. Would also like to see Anthony Rubio get more playing time.

    I only said I would like to see him get more playing time.

    And you wouldn't?

    Cheers and have a good morning!

    Yes, I think that's the issue and you're right. Depth IS a problem right now. Webb has been out all season, Duke is out for Saturday, and Jackson is still listed as questionable. If Ja'Kobi isn't ready then Daniels or Rubio would be the backup and would need to be ready for duty because Napier has a long standing tendency of splitting carries between backs. Whether it's been garbage time or not, Rubio has gotten carries this year already and is likely somewhere between 2-4 on the depth chart of a position that uses lots of bodies. I would not at all be surprised to see him in the game.

    Pretty sure the majority of our first drives end with at least a TD or minimum field goal.
    Then Billy steps in and says "well we moved the ball pretty good, they are on to us, let's change what we are doing, that will out smart them you see".

    Would love for him to get some carries because we are well ahead in the game and he gets some cleanup work I absolutely do not want him to get carries due to injury to more talented backs, especially with the game on the line....because that lessens our chances for success
    If Jakobi can't go then KD is next man up. Then Louis assuming he is healthy. Gasper I haven't heard much on, but he was dressed last Sat on the sideline
    Ultimately, if we we get down to a 5-9 walkon RB we are in trouble. Great kid, everybody loves him, but that won't matter over the course of the game. Would love to be wrong, but common sense tells me otherwise

    Having a receiver like him puts a lot of pressure on a defense.

    Yep and it's not like our other guys can't catch. I would love to see Amir Jackson break out too. Give DJ time and we'll be fine.
