Darn you for beating me to the joke. I was opening this thread to say “slotting in as the second best Ho in the federal judiciary.” (For those not in on the FedSoc/ACS jokes here, Jim Ho is a very conservative former Thomas clerk that Trump put on the Fifth Circuit in 2018.)
There's that garbage man who keeps threatening civil war. Oh, sorry, you meant the other type of garbage men.
This is good. Now can we please start confirming judges in southern states? It's been 2 1/2 years and they have confirmed a handful
What a great Twitter feed, thanks. (Juche, North Korea maintains, is a "man-centered ideology" in which "man is the master of everything and decides everything")
There was a time earlier in my career too when I advocated for nomination of left of center Centrists. And that is still my natural inclination. But now it seems like there has to be some balance, especially on voting rights, since they are so under attack. Ho will bring that, hop all the way up, but that will be a climb. Justice KBJ brought some great history of the era of the Radical Republicans, my man Thaddeus, and post War Amendments, what Bruce Ackerman has called a de facto Constitutional convention. And that seems to have borne fruit. Those historical facts have been missing from the conversation that purports to base decisions on the relevant history of the Amendment and the then current understanding
Too many of the centrists are pro-government and pro-prosecution. We need more folks who don't bend over backwards to assist prosecutors and other government lawyers. It leads to the erosion of justice.
