The same issue as with women's softball.

I know football is the cash cow, but it seems like the big schools can have an unlimited number of relatively lower paid "analysts" In 2018, LSU paid 10 analysts a combined $595,000.

How much is an assistant baseball coach paid?

Im sure the issue here is that it has to be instituted across the board? And the smaller schools cant afford it? Surely no AD in a P5 conference voted against this.

Wasn’t forced, just an option. Big 12 and big 10 voted against.

Here is an article that details who voted against.

Vote Tally For Failed Third Coach Legislation Revealed • D1Baseball

Over the past few weeks, no topic has stirred up and captured the attention of everyone in college baseball quite like the proposal that would’ve given institutions the ability to add a third paid, full-time assistant in baseball and softball.

The vote on the legislation failed, 36-25-3, and was held two weeks ago. However, the NCAA, today, released the Division I Council Report, which details how each league voted at the meeting.

Interesting breakdown, didn't realize the big 10 effectively got so many
votes. No wonder it didn't pass.
