Current state of UF football!

State of our program? Haven’t won anything meaningful in 15 years… The optics are that our job was less desirable than the LSU job despite statistics showing two programs that were neck and neck over the last 40 years which now, not landing the guy that you wanted, waiting so long that you don’t get your next four splash hires… just confirms the media bias towards us and the narrative around our program is that “Florida is not a desirable job “… This will filter down to high school coaches and recruits and The end result is “Florida is not a desirable job “…NOBODY will spend on NIL… dooming the next Coach.
The next coach will have to work his ass off and hopefully a staff that can out scheme everybody because recruits are not going to come… The SEC is more competitive than it’s ever been from top to bottom so now we find ourselves looking up at Vanderbilt… We are a tier 4 SEC program With Mississippi State and Kentucky and South Carolina… We are in the bottom four firmly
The next coach will have to try and get us to eight wins a year consistently so that when he gets fired in four years, the new A.D. can hopefully make a new mediocre hire that can take a competent tier 3 program and move them into tier 2
We will never be Tier 1 again. We are Nebraska. Pining after our old days and thinking we are something we are not. Florida football is Uncle Rico

As bad as it’s been in fifty years and apparently set to hire another Billy.

 

Mullen did not receive adequate or proper support from the higher-ups with regards to facilities, recruiting budget, etc., etc.

there aren’t many coaches out there beyond Fisch. Hiring another guy from the Sunbelt will not move the needle with recruits, transfer portal players, or fans. Fisch at least has coached two major college teams

 

What is the current state of Florida Football?

4 losing seasons out of the last 5 is worse than one terrible season.

 

50 years ago the Gators finished 9-3 and finished 2nd in the SEC. As bad as Dickey botched UF 's football program, he was infinitely better than the crap we've been spoon-fed for the last 5 years. This is the worst state UF football has been in since WW2.

I never thought that I would wish a return to the Doug Dickless Football.
Yes, things have gotten that bad.

 

Sad thing is that UF actually has some great WR, one of the best RB in the game with Baugh and several stars on D…..but Billy didn’t know how to call plays on O and refused to really bring in a good OC….and they were wasted. I expect most of them to hit the portal now that Billy 2.0 is coming

 

Kentucky and Vandy are MUCH better than us and we just hired a Billy clone …so yeah it’s a dumpster fire

 

This is what SS doesn’t realize. We’ve hit apathy where many of us don’t even care if we watch the games. Soon the Swamp will have plenty of empty seats. What’s even the point? We aren’t even trying to build a winner
