Gator spirits are flagging. I wish the next game was not on the road, we have no chance on the road. It could get even uglier in Oxford.

Hopefully the fans turn out for the last two home games. I think the kids will respond at home, I'm hoping we get one more W, I think the Vols may be to much to overcome, even at the Swamp.

I do think UF has a chance against FSU at home, but the Gators need to be leading at half time, so they begin to believe. UF has played much better competition than FSU and if Ron can get the defense to play we may have a chance.

It would be nice for the program, the fan base and the players to tag a win against the Nole's.

Look, a new group is coming in, the transfer portal is available, the schedule should be more forgiving, and maybe, just maybe, the new guys coming in turn this thing around.

I think UF can make a strong case for giving the last coach every opportunity and more.

Aleksey Golesh is fearless. I will take a Bratva class online. More incognito that way...

the more I reflect on this year, the more i believe Scott Stricklin completely failed the football program. For him not to have fired Napier after the obvious systemic issues last year is really unforgivable. We are in a really tough spot now. Very frustrated.

At my late stage of life, I find the so called list of eligible head coaches for the job at UF to be a parade of whores, charlatans, and snake oil salesmen.

It is not one man or two or three that make a collage team viable. It takes an upper tier in the colleges that can have key people in the positions of raising funds, hiring, firing, and recruiting. UF was at one time in the upper tier but that time has come and gone.

UF has an upper tier of raising funds and recruiting. Just need an upper tier of offense and defense and ST.

@GameTime1 Why is having passion for the football program funny? If fans weren’t passionate this whole thing wouldn’t work.

I wasnt laughing at passion. I like that. I don't believe the absolutes. Completely failed? Sure, any fired coach means completely failed. Right? What systemic issue are you talking about? The use of 12 personnel? As for a tough spot, we are about to hire the most coveted coach around, a coach that most think is the perfect guy for our job. I'm excited about what the future brings.

A coach who is confident in his abilities to turn a program. A coach Who is arrogant enough to believe he is the one that can turn the program into a winner. There are coaches out there and we have had a couple who are exactly like that. They are not affected by the previous knuckleheads who have been in charge. That’s who will accept the challenge.

We just need an offensive minded coach to open this offense up. Napier should be arrested for stealing millions from UF with the product and mentality he left this team when fired.

Retain as much as the roster as we can. NIL should help that. Use the portal to bring in top OL talent.

We've had too much arrogance as it is over the past fifteen years. I'll settle for confidence.

    Gator in Tennessee
    • In all honestly, Billy Napier killed my love of Florida Gator football.
    • I saw the writing on the wall in his first season. Losing to the Vols was inexcusable with Richardson. I could tell right then that Napier was a lame duck on it was going to only get worse.
    • I am pretty damn passionate about Gator football. The merch to buy and wear, the smacktalking with other SEC fans around the office each week. And then the ritual of game day itself. Maybe something tasty on the grill, or a nice drink to watch the game with. Billy Napier killed all that.
    • Napier murdering my fandom made me take a long hard look at the art of watching football to begin with. Should I waste four hours on a Saturday to see him piss away another easy win? Maybe I should visit in-laws instead. Or take my wife to that market she wanted to visit. Perhaps even go to an Octoberfest and get some enjoyment because I know that won't happen watching Gator football.
    • I am almost totally lifeless when it comes to Gator football anymore. People might mention a game in passing, or a recruit and I react with an "Oh" and sometimes even just plain silence or shrugged shoulder because I can't muster the energy to care anymore. It's not about placing personal enjoyment on the shoulders of others, it's about backing a team that wants to be competitive, and at least marginally fun to watch. The Tennessee game? Gators all looked like dead men walking the moment from kickoff.
    • I can only hope and pray that Napier is arrested for the mass murder of said Gator fandoms and that DeSantis denies any clemency pleas.

Yeah, I've pretty much checked out since he was fired, I was basically hate watching up to that point, now I just don't care and try to make light of the darkness. Games are oddly enjoyable when you can just laugh at the absurdity. UF football is on screen 2 and I glance over every now and then.

Of course, I'll be back next year.

Man you are in a tough spot when you think about visiting in-laws instead of watching Gator football. We will definitely be praying for you. I played golf on daytime kickoffs.

Not I. I remember the late Dickey years, 0-10-1, the sanction years, and those poor years after 2009, particularly the last five years. In All Kinds Of Weather and We Are The Boys still have meaning.

Those who cut their teeth on Spurrier or Meyer now understand that even Florida can suck. Understanding this makes the great years that much sweeter, and we will return to them. It may be in a year or a decade, but we will return.

Every head coach in the NCAA DIV I are offensive minded. They would of never been hired to that position if they were not.

Yes, the successful ones are those who have a good grasp of the offense.
However the most successful ones are those who excel in both the offense and defense. What separate's the the top coaches from the rest of the field are those who know how to recruit and hire good assistant coaches (including specialist, aides, and other personal). Also, the most successful head coaches know how to delegate responsibilities and address issues when they are identified.

The above laundry list also includes leadership and team building. This includes holding coaches and players accountable (no matter how good they are).
