The objective is to score more points than your opponent. Unfortunately, Napier's main objective was to move the chains. All of the defensive coaches saw through Napier's offense and stopped it cold. If you do not believe me take a look at Napier's achievements in total first downs and 3rd down conversions. UF is ranked 108th in the nation on total first downs made. 3rd conversions rate is 31 out 102 attempts (30.4%). 4th down conversions is 4 out of 11 attempts (36.4%). Total Offense is ranked 98th. I could say that the Gators have real performance issue with their offense. However, the real issue is that the Gators do not have an offense.
this is more like it: Honestly, If I'm UF law, I'm asking the law school to just put together a group of lawyers to sue Napier for fraud, have him have to spend all the money he is owed for legal representation. He is on paper the greatest con man that has ever existed.
I know this isn’t a popular opinion but I do not want Lane Kiffin. I say we take our chances with James Franklin or Eli Drinkwitz.
The one thing we have in our favor right now is our fan base. Far from the narrative that the media wants to put forward, UF fans have been absolutely supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic. Home games have been packed, loud, and considering the overall results I believe incredibly patient. The notion that Florida fans are the most arrogant, demanding group in all of college football has been, in my opinion, firmly repudiated . We’ve sold out 16 straight home games and despite poor on the field performance’s continued supporting the players and program… Billy perhaps not so much. Hopefully we continue that for the final two home games, even though it does feel hopeless, it remains our one Ace that I believe coaching candidates do notice.
It will be very interesting to see who we end up with. What coach wants to come to Gainesville when the last 4 coaches have been fired after 3-4 years? I was not a Kiffin fan years ago, but it seems to me he has matured quite a lot and has done wonders in Oxford. I have no idea what our chances are of getting him, but right now I can't think of a coach I would want more than him. But most certainly, your opinion is as valid as mine.
If we are going to “take our chances” we might as well go with Alex Golesh. His resume is basically Napier’s in 2021, but he has the misfortune of following Napier and not Mullen. We were willing to go with a G5 coach 4 years ago. Not so now since the last one just failed. Not Golesh’s fault. No coach is a sure thing, but the one that aligns most with our program, fans, and expectations is Kiffin. Drink and Franklin are chances because we know their personalities don’t go along with what our fans want. Fisch would be a terrible choice. If not for attending UF he would never be considered. If we ger to the point we are interviewing a Dillingham or Key, our AD needs to be run out of town. He does anyways but that’s another conversation.
None of them were inexplicably or unrealistically fired and potential hires know that. Stricklin bent over backwards to save Napier (and, TBH, save himself as well) in order to erase any lingering concerns from previous hires. Everyone who is thinking about coming here knows that they have about three years to show that are substantially better than what was before.
Yep, and by they he was talking about the other team while complimenting how great their coach and their effort was. No faith that SS will get Lane. He seems to be focused on guys that won’t show emotion and urgency. Shocked he hired Golden. Not sure he’s a huge Sully backer and would not shock me if he is trying to sell big money backers on up and comer “if they don’t get Lane.” Lane has full run of things at Ole Miss I’m not sure SS will guarantee him that at Florida.
The correct word you're meaning is complementary, but other than that your post is complimentary of Billy, haha.
I want an AI "head coach" designed to be complemented by a human coach. AI will replace the HC by providing on-demand personalized support.
Nah, they can get it going if they are 100% dedicated. Half assing wont get it with elite coaches or players.
Considering the product we’ve seen on the field for three years plus, it shouldn’t be a problem being better.
No. Your opinion is more valid. Bring on Lane! Dude will crush it here with the fan support, the swagger and the winning culture.
