Coach says things like "if we're walking then I'm going to be a step ahead of you, if we're thumb wrestling then I'm trying to kick your ass..... I wear a visor because I'm a fan of SOS...." But Coach takes his foot off the gas so much. SOS would put the backups in and run the offense. probably because they're always a snap away from having to be the guys running the offense. Coach Mullen put the backups in and went vanilla. I'd rather the offense have the mentality of being up 60 and still thinking it's the other team's job to stop them.
I will say that Touchdown Terrace always appears light for hot day games. Everyone retreats inside to what I assume is air-conditioned cover behind the seats there.
Did you watch the game? Offense sputtered half of the time they were trying then completely shut down in the 4th. Defense gave up 16 points but was bailed out by missed fgs and a review. Ball may have moved long after the catch was secured and completed IMO. so.... yeah your point?
I was at the game. So yes, I watched every minute. Mullen was the most fully engaged I've ever seen him and was managing the game aggressively on the sidelines from start to finish. He never relaxed that day. I even saw him jumping all over everyone near him on the tiniest details at one point, not to mention railing on Grantham because they had to call the timeout at the goal line. Regardless of whether more points could have been scored by Vandy, they weren't, so more offensive points weren't necessary. Eat some clock, play some second stringers, and get your starters out of there somewhat healthy. That's my point. At what threshold would you say he should have let up? 52-0? 72-0? I'm not saying we executed a perfect game; far from it. But, I just don't see being concerned about taking his foot off the gas in a 42-0 game. I also wonder what any of this has to do with a thread on crowd size. Where did that come from?
Yeah, and that was a phantom holding call which led to the blocked FG returned for a TD against UK. The plays all count as called (except for the Swindle, that's in a category of its own). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I watched it. but if you are celebrating the defense for giving up 0 when they bent bent and bent, then Vandy didn't score because Vandy can't kick. lol, mediocre defense is mediocre
Back in the day before cell phones and limited TV exposure thee stands were filled for very game. Not to mention the cost of attending a game today. Throw in video game nerds and you have the recipe for lower attendance.
It is certainly air conditioned and ALMOST as comfortable as your own living room - being shared by a couple thousand other fans. You can watch other games and eat the 'free' food including ice cream.
The North upper end zone will be sparse all year - that's mostly visitor seating and teams don't travel like they used to.
No one told me Kiss was playing in Tampa! I can see why attendance was lower for Vandy game with Kiss two hours away.
