NOW he can be the co-DC at UF. That is if he and Nap see eye-to-eye. Just leave the turnover chain back in Miami.
He ran some pretty good defenses at Miami when Richt was there, they fell off the past few seasons though. I'd trust Coach Napier's judgment.
Unfortunately, not only did they have the gold topped Scepter they also had a massive neck chain. That plus the fact that their D players were chirping on every play and it was a pretty bad look. Didn't jibe with my perception of CBN at all.
Players barking on defense and talking trash is pretty harmless, I see it as no indictment on CBN. Football is a game at the end of the day that you're supposed to have fun while playing.
ESPN reporting that Christobal told his players this morning he was leaving for Duh U. Hurricanes fire Diaz after 3 years as head coach "Cristobal informed his Oregon players in a meeting Monday morning that he's leaving for the Miami job, sources told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg and Chris Low. On3 first reported new of Cristobal telling his Ducks players."
He would be interesting there. He's a fantastic recruiter, Oregon fully supported him but even he couldn't get them over the hump in a TERRIBLE conference. And supposedly Thibadeaux (sp) called him a "f'ing fraud" in the locker room. High risk to high reward for Miami.
I take it Oregon did not want Cristobal enough to make him a state-of-the-art offer. I imagine then that Oregon's AD believes some of Cristobal's key assistants will not follow him or that they have another coach in mind. If Cristobal does not bring most of his staff from Oregon his success will be much less certain. Also, with the way this went down, it seems more that Cristobal only negotiated his contract, not the details of support and program development like CBN did with UF.
