I'm seeing FB and Twitter going crazy talking about he's transferring to Florida. Anyone with more info here hearing anything. I'm taking the social media noise with a grain of salt.

SECRant has tons of posts about that too. Seems to be some smoke in the story.

Lots of smoke saying "done deal", but I'm curious as the rumors are he was a "trouble maker".

He was kicked off the team here, not for any one major thing but for a consistent series of smaller things that added up. Picked a fight on the field last year with a senior teammate in the middle of a game, arrested for marijuana possession in the spring, routinely had effort issues, etc.

Very talented guy, but there are attitude issues that were bad enough to cause this. Take that for what you will.

Until Mullen gives me reason not to trust the process I will continue to have faith that the risks he takes are well thought out and worthwhile for our long-term success (even though some of those risks will be realized). Still IF Mullen is seriously considering taking Cox, it should be thought of as a high-risk high-reward gamble. Getting kicked off a team that will bury it's own poop is not exactly a vote of confidence for any prospective team.

Well, we already have high risk with moderate reward in Huggins on the team now, so Cox would seem to be an easier choice.

So it would seem the smoke is not from a regular cigarette?

Taking character risks on guys through the portal is going to be the new normal. Hope the kid can fresh start, but be fully prepared to send him packing. Makes sense if you've got the schollies.

Mullen took risks at MSU also. Problems don't drop off in the portal; they follow the player. We just have to hope Mullen can manage the problems he brings in.

Seems UGA is having a lot of problems keeping a number of their elite signed a of late. I believe this would be the third or fourth top 10 player they've lost out of last year's class?

Too many big fish and too small a pond perhaps? Guess this happens when you're promising starting spots to every guy you recruit.

I think cigarette smoke "went out the window" as a serious concern in CFB, some time ago.

I'll take it. gives a boost to a position group & smacks uga in the face at the same time. Nice job Coach Mullen

I don't see anything wrong with giving a kid a chance for fresh start. If it's not here, it will be somewhere else. And if he screws up, he'll be gone.
