Since apparently we need a thread for each move.
The Warriors might field the greatest team in NBA history (on paper) after this move.
Who will watch the NBA now?
This is actually pretty sad to me. It kills my fantasy of Boogie + Rajon + D-league deal with Isaiah Briscoe = Cal leaves UK to go coach the Pelicans or wherever.
Eh, a girl can dream. It's not a multi-year deal is it? At least tell me there's some kinda opt-out that means I can keep my dreams alive!
1 year deal. This is getting ridiculous.
This is a joke at this point. Let’s just let McGhee go and we’ll sign Boogie in his place. They can officially hand over the trophy for 2018-19 to the Warriors. Not that they couldn’t already do that, but let’s make sure. Adam silver needs to step in and do something about this garbage. It’s detrimental to the nba. Absolutely pathetic.
Wow Warriors put a new meaning to buying championships..
In fairness to them, they won a ring before they signed Durant or Cousins.
Very true, which makes it even more ridiculous. This is like playing NCAA or Madden and editing all your players to have the best team. No contest, not fun... Won't watch.
You can agree for less money to technically help a team, but your slot against the cap should be constant.
Also, the luxury tax is BS. Need a level playing field.
You can watch until January. Boogie won’t be ready til then.
Y’all clearly think waaaaaay more highly of Mr. Cousins than do I.
He's an all-star. They can literally field a team of all-star players.
First time in NBA history a team will have 5 all-star players in their starting lineup. The Warriors now have 4 players who are capable of scoring 50 any given night. Comical and sad at the same time. The next player/owner meetings will be very interesting to say the least.
He’s a legit 20/10/5 guy. There are only a couple of guys in the nba capable of putting up his kind of numbers. I’ve never been so disappointed at a league.
I don’t like him either but there is no denying his talent. He’s his own worst enemy with the childish tantrums and technicals.
Anyone hoping for a disintegration of the Warriors this could be just the magic bullet you've been praying for - that is unless Kerr can pull off some sorta locker room magic trick no NBA coach before him has managed.
Also, I'm not sure that being an All-Star makes up for all the drama that tends to surround him, if you believe any of the opinions and analysis following his previous team departures. Here is one such example after Boogie departed the Sacramento Kings pattern. Quoting from that article:
For all his talent, Cousins never played a meaningful minute in Sacramento—not in the six seasons he logged at the ramshackle Sleep Train Arena, not in the 26 games he appeared at the gleaming new Golden 1 Center.
For all his physical prowess, Cousins never delivered a playoff berth. Or even one winning season.
No, for the last seven years, Cousins produced only turmoil and chaos: grinding up coaches and teammates, referees and reporters, dragging down an entire franchise with every F-bomb, every outburst and every suspension. Read full article here.
PS: Should be a whole lotta fun when Boogie greets KD and gets to explain his comments from 2016.
The warrior apologists are in full swing. This just in..Adam silver signs with the warriors for the MLE!!
Wow, that team is so talented that Cal could probably win a championship with it.
His agent said he had “no” other offers and had to call Warriors to get their $5 million exception. Will not be ready to play when season starts and Warriors have depth to wait. Interesting that no one else wanted him
