I know Jason Aldean's wife caught a lot of grief for her comments thanking her parents for not changing her gender when she went through her 'tomboy phase.' And it was a really stupid comment. But I'm sure she got a lot of support, too.
But it seems like a big step for his PR firm to drop such a popular performer.

I'm not a country music follower, and dont really understand why these statements are controversial. Seems pretty "common sense" to me.

"I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”
Jason Aldean responded in the comments with a laughing emoji and wrote, “Lmao!! Im glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”
Three days later, Brittany wrote, “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils…Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions.”

Just like his wife had the freedom to express her views, the PR firm had the freedom to cut ties with him.

Seeing what happened to Morgan Wallen, Jason is going to blow up for this.

It wasn’t her comments that caused the rift, it was his:

I’m saying that was 100 percent how it was perceived by many. had he just said that he supports the struggle kids may be going through but believes they should wait until 18 because it’s a non reversible decision, he would likely still have his PR firm. Calling it genital mutilation, evil, etc were the words that buried him.

Maybe without malice or understanding, but yes, possibly, with a distinction.

That is the hard thing about this issue. Ideally you would want to say hold off on anything till at least 18. But if someone is to transition successfully, they really need to block puberty. So maybe holding off on surgery, but most on the "other side" also want to block puberty blockers and even social identification changes. That feels punitive and mean spirited.

    Agreed.

Im all for anyone that thinks they are another gender to get the operation done after they are considered an adult. I'm curious of the statistics of how many are happy with the change as opposed to how many regret it later in life.

Lets say we put a child on puberty blockers because he or she thinks they want to transition. Before the actual full blown change, they change their mind. Is there a way to reverse the puberty blockers? Im just concerned more of children being manipulated by their extreme left LGBTQ parent as opposed to what the child actually wants. Do we even know what we want or who we are when we are that young?

What she said was gross. It's extremely tone deaf and compares the struggle of people with legit gender ID issues to that of a tom boy phase. They are not the same.

And the idea that across the country, parents who see their daughters climbing trees and playing sports are immediately rushing them into surgery to turn them into boys.

My understanding, and it's limited, is that stopping to take puberty blockers will bring an onset of puberty. I don't know how long that lasts.

But I do know this. Failing to take puberty blockers and going through puberty makes transitioning in the future almost impossible. I analogize it to a legal injunction, preserving the status quo pending final determination.

It's what makes this issue so difficult. We're not emotionally mature at the time we reach puberty. But puberty brings about physical changes whether we're mature enough to accept them or not.

In my mind, it's a bit of a corollary about the chastity till marriage argument. Perhaps that was close to being a realistic expectation when people went through puberty at 16 and married at 18. But when you go through puberty at 13 and marry in your late 20s, at the earliest, it's not realistic.

The basic problem is that humanity is maladapted on an evolutionary stage. We go through puberty, which is supposed to be nature's signal to you to begin reproducing, far sooner than we are emotionally mature to be an actual adult.

Besides the polar opposites of the actual words used here, how do we know the difference between a child that has legit gender issues or is simply confused (not "tom boy" which I understand the difference)?

And by the way, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was dropped because after her comment his PR firm said” you might want to walk that back a bit” and he responded by doubling down. At which point they said “if you’re not going to take our advice then good luck to you”.

Right Im such a great conservative, I support gay rights/marriage, trans rights, pro-choice, legalize weed, support social programs within reason...

Do more research before you say stupid crap. You're trying to call me a conservative in a thread where Im supporting trans rights to change their sex if they want to.

Maybe you think Im a conservative because I don't like PEOPLE like you. We basically agree and while everyone else is having a nice discussion you come here trying to pigeon hole me into being a conservative and for what? What do you get out of it? STFU and comment about the thread or move on with your life.

FFS you wonder why I don't like liberals? Here's your sign.

I've said many times on this forum that I did not vote for him and would not vote for him. I vote libertarian to hopefully one day get equal ballot access for another party.
