He freaking Miami's head coach... dislike that guy no matter what. :D

And even if he never said it, the player don't need to know that. ;)

Not that our players need it, but it's even more motivation...

Too many of the words were spelled correctly for him to be from Miami....or Tallahassee.

For 17, we're going way back for this one. It was one of our best bowl upsets in Gator history. The year was 1962, and our unranked Gators were 6-4, squaring off against 9th ranked and 9-1 Penn State.

Behind Gator Bowl MVP quarterback Tommy Shannon, our boys prevailed 17-7 in a pretty big upset.

Another 17 is receiver, Reche Caldwell. As a junior in 2001, he finished his junior season with sixty-five receptions for 1,059 yards (an average of 16.3 yards per catch) and ten touchdowns, becoming only the ninth receiver in Gators history to gain over 1,000 yards receiving in a single season.

We're getting closer to the opener guys :)

My number 17 would be us beating those 17th ranked Auburn tiggers for our 6th SEC Championship.

Also good game for Reche Caldwell who as mentioned above wore #17. :)

I do remember he had surgery after the injury, but it may not have been an ACL, or it may not have been a severe ACL injury. Stacy Simmons also had knee surgery that season.

It might be a bit off topic but since its slow I like the banter. Knee surgery for a meniscus or MCL is way different than an ACL. ACL repair was a major surgery and possibly a career ender in the 80s. I'm not a dr or an expert but as I'm going under ACL repair at the moment I have learned and am learning a lot about it. They were still experimenting with allografts and and tensioning techniques in the 80s and mostly doing open surgery although arthroscopy was becoming more and more popular.

Adrian Peterson is the only football player that returned successfully as fast as he did which was starting a game 9 months after surgery. If you ever habe the misfortune of suffering an ACL rupture you will understand how amazing his return was.

Down to 16 days. For this one, I'm going back to 1991 where our #6 Gators hosted #16 Alabama. We had never beaten Bama at home. 0-6 all time. But this night we would not be denied. The Gators destroyed Bama 35-0. It was the Tides only loss all year. The Gators would go on to a perfect 7-0 SEC season and win 10 games for the first time ever.

I kinda figured that, but when I miss my target, which happens often, I kinda know it - like as soon as I do it. Surprising if someone else didn’t already call that out.

That said, we gotta beat Miami, ref$u, and Georgia this year

    Go Gators

I loved how the crowd counted down the last seconds. Great win for the Gators.

Interesting, is this a legit statistic or are you merely anecdotal in your statement? I agree it seems that way, just asking.
