The media is acting like UF would have no chance versus UGA next season because they have the recent top recruiting class and a good recruiting class last year. On the other hand UGA is losing a lot of starters on defense.

I think UF does have a chance if we have better injury luck next season (especially at QB) and UGA has worse injury luck. Last season UGA had very few injuries/suspensions while UF had the most in the NCAA.

UF should be just as good as UGA at:
RB and WR. They will be better at QB and OL.

UF should be better than UGA at:

    LB and CB
    Per UGA site:
    One guarantee:
Georgia can’t replace Roquan Smith and won’t try to. It will just hope that the inside linebackers are good enough to do their part to keep the defense on solid footing.

They will be just as good on the DL.

If Emory Jones stays healthy and picks up Mullen's offense by the UGA game we have a shot at upsetting UGA if we have better injury luck during next season. We are overdue for good injury luck while they are overdue for bad injury luck.

With UF finally getting a QB and many playmakers on offense UGA better watch out.

The wild card is UF has left scholarship room for top grad transfers to plug up any holes in our depth chart.

I'm definitely going to need more than a 4 month sample to make the Poodles the measuring stick for football achievement. Media needs a new shiny toy is a huge part of the hype.

Well, that and 15 five stars on the roster doesn't hurt.

I ain't sceered of no stinkin' bulldawgs. Great class this year, very good class last year - still falling on their ugly faces in the big games. If we get some improvement on the injury front, and a QB steps up - I like our chances.

15 is not correct. 5 stars Thompson and Eason are gone from your 15. 8 0f the 5 stars will be freshmen.

I din't think the media is disrespecting the Gators or putting much thought, do people in media ever put much thought into anything, just yet. UF just needs to get back to business just like FSU does. Other major programs like USCw and TX have had down years or down periods when things get stale or young people just don't feel like working towards a common goal. In most cases, it is not because of a lack of talent.

One of the things I like about FSU hiring Taggert is, from what I can tell, he is able to motivate but still make playing football relatively fun. I think you need to be able to do that with todays millennials. I'm not sure Mullen is a "fun" coach but he is passionate about being at UF and that should translate to the players.

FSU plays VT early. Non nonsense VT. A program that doesn't recruit a bunch of 4 and 5 star kids but a program that gets good players, has a few great players, and knows how to work hard 365 and that doesn't beat themselves. It will be a good test. I'm glad the game is in Doak. UF has Tenn early usually and that is the bell weather game. I really don't think much about UF until the Miami game is over. I think what I am mostly interested in is how Mullen is going to handle and develop your QB's. UF is one good QB away from being in the Top 10 again. You have a stable of great backs, your OL has some questions, your WR's should start making plays once you find a QB, you all have been living and dying with D since Tebow left. If you find some offense, as long as the D stays solid, you will start beating good people again.

Yes. UF could possibly upset UGA. While it doesn’t look promising at this point, who knows what it will look like game week. UF could even be favored going in.

If we’re relying on a true freshman to beat UGA next season, we’re in trouble.

If we finally have an actual QB emerge, we have a shot. If not, we are toast.

I think we should just take the year off and train for 2019.

After all, some on here think Mullen was an awful choice.

14th in recruiting will never allow us to compete.

BUT that's why you play the game.

You know everyone knew The Patriots had it in the bag.

So let's just pick-up and head to the house:cool:

I think SC has an outside shot of beating GA.. 2nd game of the season at Williams Brice. I’m not saying it will, but a shot.

this will be one of the better teams that SC has put on the field since the Spurrier years.
