Trump may have given his potential Democratic opponent great material for an ad campaign. Imagine this comedy routine juxtaposed with images of individuals who passed away as the result of infections from the Covid-19 strain of the coronavirus.

Something tells me that to most Americans a potentially fatal viral infection, even one with a mortality rate of under two percent, is not a laughing matter.

There are now four unrelated cases in the US of unknown origin. That means there are at least four other people who have it and don't know it. Those people are spreading it unknowingly. It's here.

We do t know how long it has been here. Unsuspecting people get what they think is the flu and test negative. Or don’t treat. This is like any thing else; the overwhelming majority of cases are mild or recovered from. But, a small percentage who get severe cases and die or suffer consequences. The key limit spread and the percentages. It needs to be handled competently because it is new and those who are immune are few. These are the simple fundamentals. Lying about it or blaming media or Dems for panic and the drop in the markets is so false and so wrong that it is sick. That shows what we are facing with their president and the base that laps it up. The true danger of believing everything that he says. Which they do. The enemies of the people are not the beaters of news. They are the people who empower liars, bigots, people who abuse their power and people who seek to deprive others of their freedom. Ugly times in the US.

I’m not really interested in all the political BS about this virus. I would like to understand though how after several weeks of having everybody quarantined and flights from China canceled are we having these untraceable positives showing up all the sudden? Is the virus mutating and more easily transmissible now? And why aren’t there more cases if this is happening? Not calling into question motives or anything like that. Just trying to understand how this has happened.

World wide (sorry, didn't make that clear) based on (a) one person affecting two others and (b) a death rate of approximately 3%. Also, warm weather may incubate it, but as some have done in the past, it could come back with a vengeance in the fall and winter.

Because it takes 2 weeks for symptom to show, and they are often mild. A person gets of a plane from another country and seems fine, but is incubating the virus ... caught from a person who showed mild symptoms. The virus may be spread to several more people before someone gets sick enough to get checked out.

So, if correct, then we should see a spike very soon into the hundreds, if not thousands, because by now there must be hundreds of people walking around without symptoms. Hope I am wrong.

I read somewhere that it can clear up and then come back again on people who have it.

    1. People were exposed without proper protection when infected people were brought back.

    2. They really dont understand how it transmits or when someone is contageous or not.

A glimmer of hope here is that China seems to have the answer. They’ve really slowed the spread and I would think that’d probably be about the toughest place to do it.

Fresh details emerge about Nigeria's first coronavirus case

The Italian, whose country is the worst-hit in Europe by the coronavirus outbreak, arrived on February 24 on a Turkish Airlines flight that had a connection in Istanbul, Akin Abayomi, Lagos state commissioner for health, told reporters.

After spending the night in a hotel near the airport, he arrived in the neighbouring state of Ogun on February 25 at his place of work.

He stayed there until he developed a fever and body aches on the afternoon of February 26, Abayomi said.
