No one is mandating a vaccine. They are free to not take it. They are also free to find other forms of employment.

See how free that is. What in the hell is the problem then?

They are firing people, for NOT taking the vaccine, that worked as first responders during the height of this plandemic..

You want companies not to be free to fire people?

Wrong again. This is post #24052, posted by you, July 29.

Go look at the UK chart. No reason to think the US will be any different. We will top out most likely the 1st week of Augusta. Cases don’t matter. Only thing they matters is hospitalizations. There isn’t anything to be done to stop the rise. We aren’t shutting down and masks don’t work to stop it. The mostly unvaccinated people will have to deal with it. Some that didn’t get the vaccine will die. That’s on those people.
My reply, #24061, which you found funny for some reason.

There are some factors that might cause delta to linger longer in the US, especially in different pockets. One, geographic size, meaning the US has a lot more centers of population than the UK. The US is something like 4000% larger in land mass than the UK, but this includes Alaska, which certainly skews the comparison. But the point is, it takes a lot less time for a virus to reach shore to shore in the UK versus the US.

Two, we have a much larger population, and about 10% lower overall vaccination rate, meaning delta has a lot more warm, unvaxxed people to infect on this side of the pond versus the UK.

Pockets in the US might see delta wane in August, but it wouldn't be shocking to me, at least, if other areas are still having issues well into September, and maybe others even longer. Time will tell.
I see no qualifiers about Delta petering out in the South only. But I do see you thought Delta would start to wane by the first week of August, which was also wrong. My response was, maybe some places will peak in August, but we'll be talking about Delta well into September, and likely October.

There's a potential tax you could choose not to pay to stop covid. Tax the unvaccinated. They should have to pay for all costs they are accruing for our country.

I just read about a small business that plans on laying off about 20 vaccinated workers to get below 99. :emoji_joy:

Not for being gay... or for not vaccinating.

It's worth posting this Forbes article again. The unvaccinated is costing over $1 billion a month in hospital bills, and that is a conservative estimate. Also a conservative estimate, 84% of these hospitalizations could have been prevented by the vaccine, since vaccinated do not get as sick as the unvaxxed, in general, do not get sick at all in higher numbers, and therefore, do not spread the virus as much as the unvaxxed do.

So you want your choices to convey you with protected class protections? Can I have a protected class for people that don't want to show up to work until the late morning too?

OK. So, I would actually agree that we need to make exceptions for people who have already contracted and recovered from COVID, but otherwise they are still a huge risk to contract and spread COVID.

They are a terribly run business if they can afford to lay off 20 people and maintain the same level of efficiency

    Where's the "science" in that?

And I recently posted an article about Great Britain that stated that the tests for covid there and around the world are 80% INACCURATE. So, that a nonstarter.

Let's just stop this attempted power grab and controlling nonsense that is nothing more that dry run attempt to force SOCIALIZED MEDICINE ON EVERYONE.

Unless their worker productivity is negative, that is one dumb company.

I’m guessing this is something you read on social media, and you probably didn’t even question it’s veracity.

Uh oh, @gator95 is not going to be happy with the UK. They have updated their guidance and are now vaccinating all children between the ages of 12-15 (and I do mean the entire UK - Scotland, N Ireland, England and Wales all agree). It turns out, UK parents really do love their children, no??? Heaven help us if Boris decides to issue a full maks mandate across the UK rather than just having Scotland and N Ireland with mask mandates.

PS....guessing that this is because as winter approaches, you can no longer hold out door classes or have all of the window and doors open when the weather gets to 5 C and below to mitigate risk with fresh air.

PPS the mean temperature for Aberdeen (northern Scotland) in Dec, Jan, Feb is 0 C to -1 C (32- 30F)....so, guessing those outdoor classes will suck.
