Natural immunity isn't as strong as immunity from the vaccine. And not only do we not know how long immunity from the vaccine lasts, we still don't know how long natural immunity lasts. And if it's just one year, then we'll start seeing 2-timers starting to rise very soon.

Here's a good article on why if we want to get back to normal, everyone eligible should get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Those would be the numbers that you declared BS (cases of Covid), right? Or are the numbers back to being right here?

You have no idea if natural immunity isn’t as strong as the vaccine. Zero proof of that.

Sure, take those bs numbers and add them to the vaccine numbers and let me know what you come with. I’m super interested in hearing you follow up on this.

Why? What is the point of doing math on "bs numbers?" To come to the conclusion that you would prefer? I mean, you can't logically claim that lots of people that we claim had Covid didn't really, but they are also immune because they have had Covid.

BTW, the notion that people who have had Covid don't need vaccines is largely false. From the Cleveland Clinic:

When Should You Get Vaccinated if You’ve Had COVID-19? – Health Essentials from Cleveland Clinic

We have early indicators the vaccine is stronger than natural immunity. Especially after the second shot. In short, the number of 2nd infected people after six months is higher than breakthrough cases so far.

I'd guess that it's much more likely anti-vax than vax hesitancy/wait for fda approval. Many have fallen for the disinformation coming from anti-vax quarters. Been dealing with it in my immediate fam.

How many people have had Covid once, then got it again and had to be hospitalized? Get back to me with those numbers.

Again, how many people have had a confirmed case of Covid, then got it again and were hospitalized? That number is the important one. Since we know that number is extremely low, then we know having Covid is as good or better than getting the vaccine.

That is one battle that a LOT of parents won't give in on. Vaccinate those who are in danger and anyone over 18. Even if they move it to 16, I'm not sure I'll have my 16 year old get it. Not enough data on kids for me to say yes at this time. Not sure why the push back. It's as crazy as a 60 year old refusing the virus in my view.

My 17 year old gets his second dose Saturday. We wouldn’t have done it except for the fact he’s been quarantined a half dozen times this school year by a whacko principal who has quarantined herself even after receiving the vaccination!
Next time they tell him to quarantine we can politely say no.

This week's episode of the Jab from Economist radio does think the new variance are the reason that India is getting hit so hard. India seem to be spared from the initial wave which they speculate based upon scientific conjecture was due to dominant immunological profiles in the region from prior coronavirus pathogens different from covid-19, but which do not create immunity to the new variant. Interesting. Obviously this is developing

Yeah, that sucks. Are you sure if you have the vaccine that your kid won't get quarantined? We have a lot of dumb people in our country, so don't be surprised if the answer is not what is rational.

oh I fully expect that his principal will try to quarantine him anyway however that would probably end up in a Battle that I don’t think she wants to fight

How would we know? Aren't those numbers BS to you as well? Again, why do you want to do math on numbers that you are simultaneously calling false?
