I hate seeing Zuniga moving inside on a regular basis. He is a playmaker on the outside vs. the run or pass. When inside he gets held nearly every play with few if any calls. Carter has to be 35 pounds heavier with improved strength and footwork. Both or either will be handfuls with Campbell and Greenard beside them. UF over UM with injuries and earned suspensions or not.

Carter has been playing DE and DT from spring through the fall and is 290 lbs. He might be our best DT if he was not needed at DE. He was going to play DT regardless of suspensions or injuries. If Carter plays the whole game at DT, Greenard has a body that I believe is more suited for DE than Buck, so it would not be surprising to see Greenard spell Zuniga while Moon takes over Buck. Dunlap has played NT and DT in the case that Campbell is not really ready to go. There are a lot of potential lineups to keep these guys fresh for the 4th quarter if there are no more injuries/suspensions at DT.

Maybe you should listen to Dan’s presser.
Talks about 88 starting positions. It’s games 3, 4 and 5 and so on I worry about. Hate to see a great season detailed due suspensions, lack of depth, etc. We are one or two injuries away from being in a situation that no one would want to be in in terms of depth fingers crossed

Articles in the spring and fall camp mentioned him playing inside and out, and I saw a mention of him in an article on his physical transformation in the spring saying he was 286 IIRC. He was mentioned by some writers as the most impressive player of the spring, unblockable.

yes we do need more on the DL but I'm more confident in our starting DL than I am in our starting OL.... in that sense, if I had to lose player on either line, it would be on the DL as opposed to the OL

Understand and agree with your concerns. But, even in home games only 80 can participate. The 88 number counts many multiple first and second teamers on special teams. We are on a fine line though.

I think 270-275 is a good weight for him at DE, but if he’s really at 290 or that close to it I think we’ll see him considerably more inside than out now that Conliffe is down.

Not if they don't recruit enough DL. "But Die, we have three committed so far this cycle". Oh, okay. We'll be good on DL again in a few seasons. :thumbs up:

I just learned Malik Langham transferred. Ugh.

    This season?

Run our DL out of gas if they can. We just have to score more.

I suspect you will see Zuniga or Carter inside mostly in 2nd or 3rd and long situations, so it is imperative our starters stuff the run on first down. I suspect Miami will try to grind it out .
