I won't spend the time perusing the threads to re-post, but whoever designed the moniker "The Toddfather" was brilliant. Talk about a great and timely concept. Much to the chagrin of the Auburn, Tennessee, and likely Arkansas fans...
Yeah, but I still have this nagging feeling that if we had given Mike White that same amount of additional time...
Yeah, we (or me) have a LOT of bravado right now. But still, the idiot "experts" remain in the "awe of the blue bloods" business (it probably sells WAY better during the off-season) instead of the discerning mode. Show me 5 other teams that are considered a better option for the top spot right now. They have returning players? We just won a NC and so do we. They have proven talent? Depth? C'mon guys, stop being so damn lazy and do some real work!
I've always thought so, and that's what everyone thought when I was younger. Then along came the 3-point shot, and the game started getting smaller. Then along came the shot-clock and the game got smaller still, and became a guard-dominated game. Now, CTG comes out with his calculator and his AI and changes that perception, not just in Gainesville, but nationally. I guarantee you, lots of coaches are watching the Gators and taking notes and speaking in fevered whispers to the their assistants about the future of basketball. Newsflash, wide-eyed coaches: Todd Golden will still be two steps ahead of you. Dude is cutting-edge. He is a rocket surgeon. He should be running NASA.
And what they need to understand is that Bruce Pearl is 65, Calipari is 66, and Barnes is 70. Ready for the retirement home. Golden is 39. I know what I'd be telling players if I were in a recruiting battle against those three. Also, the Idiot Tuberville just announced he's running for Governor, and rumors are flying that Pearl will run for his Senate seat.
I generally like Tuberville and he is well rounded to say the least. If I’m speculating why he may leave Congress for governor, may have something to do with the staggering $$ he has made while in Congress, in a short time. This is not unusual these days, sadly.
