I'm very happy to watch these guys again. I'm not looking forward to the measurements of the expectations that will be placed on them.
I get a little put out when people, even those - maybe ESPECIALLY those here that should know better - say dismissive things about Alex, a la "He had a disappointing tournament, etc". He was fighting through pain every night to be as effective as possible, in the biggest moments, on the brightest stage and he HELPED HIS TEAM WIN...(edit) and never breathed a word about it to anyone, during or after. Alex just went "man-up" every game.
The only thing that can stop us now is rat poison.... Sorry, I locked my debbie downer in the basement and she's been trying to get out lately.
IMO, maybe the constant switching will end this season. Go ahead and let an opponent drive around a pick. What are they going to find going past the corner? A LOT of height. Yes, they can shoot teardrop shots but still, are any teams going to win games shooting them? Just play off a bit on the perimeter but not too much. Trust the height advantage. And be in awe. This team is built for a B-t-B run. It needs confidence and not arrogance, that last year's confidence when things aren't going quite as expected (no, they aren't going 40-0) and good communication. Methinks all those points are going to come to fruition. And I am excited to see all the second year players' jump in skill. Um, is it November yet?
