Alex Condon returns to Florida Gators: Star withdraws from NBA Draft putting title repeat in sight | OnlyGators.com: Florida Gators news, analysis, schedules and scores
Hooray! I think he made the right decision for himself and the team. Now, TG and staff has got to coach them up! Going to be another fun season!
now the only question is how long will it take for them to gel. This is YUUUUGE. We are absolutely stacked.
It was a pretty thin margin and some amazing efforts that put us over the top to win last season. Really was a magical run. We've got some good additions coming in - and 4 of the 8 who played in the National Title game coming back (3 starters gone though) Hard to tell if we can win another NC - and that is a very tough expectation to live up to - but we'll definitely have a very solid team this year.
"It's a hard thing to do, winning back-to-back," Condon said. "We're not taking it lightly. We need to get together as a team. Get back to Gainesville, share in some hardship through hard work in the summer, and get used to playing with each other. Part of the reason we were so good last season was we got used to playing with each other for two years. We need to continue that. When guys have your back, that's what makes a great team." Florida will start out being ranked in the top 5 for we have top 5 talent but rankings aren't everything. Last year we weren't ranked high and maybe not at all and yet "team" trumped stars. It wasn't about padding stats it was about doing what was needed to win and our senior leadership cannot be appreciated enough. Once again we have talented players and great depth. Condon is the icing on the cake. Repeating will require that same unselfish team first attitude, a won't back down disposition when in the presence of adversity and of course a few good breaks as in staying relatively healthy and balls bouncing our way. I think coaching is a given under TG and again I think he has assembled a great coaching staff.
Dude may be the league's best next year! The ankle injury shows he is a tough mother. And without it he probably dominates even more down the stretch and goes 1st round. Amazing we still won the tournaments.
