Context? Hint? I'm more inclined to click a link when given a reason to do so.

CMW: 132 OUCH. According to this ranking we have the 6th best coach in Florida. For all of those Anthony Grant fans, he's only a few notches above White. No upgrade there.

I like reading lists like these but I do think this guy's formula is flawed.

When the coach (some random guy, can't remember his name) who is tied for first in actual "raw performance" category, comes out 14th, I question the formula. This formula is a good way to attempt to find the most overachieving, relative to pre-season projections, coach.

Also, why give coaches extra points for "promotions"? Sure, that means they did well. But you're already accounting for how well they did in the raw performance metric. Its arbitrary.

Some interesting names at the bottom of that list - Brett Nelson, John Pelphrey, Jerry Stackhouse, Terry Porter, Damon Stoudamire (didn't even know he was coaching).

Well, for all of you that have asked me for a list of coaches that Florida could hire that would be better than White, that list shows at least a hundred of them.

Tom Crean ahead of Tommy Amaker? Wtf?
Counzo Martin a top 100 coach?
Jim Laranaga a top 100 coach?
Shaka Smart a top 100 coach?
Will Wade and Kevin Keatts ahead of Leonard Hamilton? Pass the weed.
Kevin Keatts a top 20 coach? Lol...Oh man. I'm crying tears now.

    Lol, c'mon now. Stop playing.

What am I missing with Will Wade? How is he ranked so high? They've got Chris Mack all the way down at 66. I like the Three Man Weave podcast, but they need to go back to the drawing board here.

Sounds like a very flawed approach to ranking coaches IMHO.

I didn't even get down to the top 300 before bailing out, but I assume Leonard Hamilton was ranked pretty high, because all he had to do is beat the fairly low standards he set in his earlier years at FSU.

All Mike White had to do is beat the standards Donovan set. As the guy said, getting into the Tourney and having some success in the Tourney (the things I most look for) are not primary criteria for his rankings.

Bryce Drew is ranked way higher than the National Coach of the Year? Can I be the first to state that this ranking system is worthless?

Need a Dave Wottle-like kick by CMW next season to climb this poll.

so, who on this list - in, say, the top 30(?) - is a legitimate target for ADSS (if the Gators/CMW flounders)?

In a similarly designed list, I was ranked as having a “top-10 head of hair”.

Does this coach rankings move coaches up or down if they have "show cause" seasons where they could not coach or Final Fours vacated? Or is that neutral?

Just want to know how that impacted Kelvin Sampson and Bruce Pearl.

I will leave Calipari out of this. NOT!

BS like this is just why I have grown to detest HR Departments and their incessant attempts to formulate success in a can.

    It good to be retired.

It is best to be retired and get to pick and choose how you continue to work.
