Really strange ... They were told to stay in a certain area, then riot cops approached and surrounded them, the reporter told them they were told to stand there by other cops ... Asked if they wanted them to recolate .... Was polite and respectful ... But they were handcuffed and led away one by one with the camera laying on the ground at the end ...

Link isn't working ... It's on the CNN front page...

Not a good look for the MPD Correction: Minn. State Police.

    The governor apologized.

it was wrong in every possible way, but in a way I cut the police a bit of slack. I am sure their tensions are crazy high - they are being vilified nationally, probably working crazy long shifts, having to deal with riots, looting, fires, chaos and then here’s this film crew in their way and someone snapped a bit. I can see how tempers would be short, they are human too. They were quickly released.
Again doesn’t excuse it, but I wouldn’t put it in the same category as some other police abuses. They did say everyone was cordial once they were arrested.

    Terrible look for sure regardless.

I've been assured that this was fake news, all staged by CNN. If it had been real, the camera would have been the first thing taken out. QED.

Major credit to the reporter Omar Jimenez. He was calm and under control throughout and acted totally professional. Not sure I would have been as calm.

The police had blank looks on their faces and never responded to him until one of them said he was under arrest. I wonder who ordered them to arrest them? The governor was definitely mad over the whole thing.

This was made 10x worse by the fact that white CNN reporter Josh Campbell was nearby, was stopped by police, asked the same questions, and then was allowed to continue to work after showing the CNN jacket without being arrested.

This is HORRIBLE all the way around.

A black Latino CNN reporter was arrested. A white CNN reporter was not.

If I were the governor I'd stick my foot so far up someone's butt they'd be able to floss with my shoelaces.

I guess by race card you mean facts, then yes, now more than ever someone needs to occasionally use facts. God knows it appears that our president is incapable of using them.

Whether this was tongue-in-cheek or not (I suspect it was), I thought it was actually funny. Heck a little humor is needed now as much as ever. And unlike many on this board, libs included, I enjoy CNN.
