of my son at a school working on his airframe and powerplant licenses had his guns confiscated, assaulted his parents, violated a restraining order, all within a 3 week span and within 3 months of starting school. Son and another classmate were freaked out by him and his general demeanor so they did some googling and the arrest reports are all right there. Son wants to handle it himself. Says he told instructor about it. Should college have known about this before admitting him? Should it effect his status as a student? Should I re[\port it in writing to school if son doesn't?
How old is your son? I am assuming for this answer he is of legal age, so I would let him handle it. Since he old his instructor don't you think the school knows about it by now?
No idea. If he sent an email like I asked him I know the instructor would have been more inclined to push it up the ladder. He chose to talk to the instructor instead
Dontcha mean "should trade schools be more accountable?" I'm only familiar with university application measures (GPA, SAT/ACT, audition results, rec's, interviews, etc.). I don't know how common it would be for higher ed institutions to run BG checks, but imagine that the admissions offices at major universities have more resources for such additional vetting measures.
