Rivals dropped us to 13? I thought they had us at 12?
The disparity u see in some of the individual rankings is mind numbing. Steele’s is all over the map along with some others. Wish I understood better. Hard to make sense of 29 or 40 or w/e in 1 ranking and nearly 100 in another
I feel pretty good about where CDM has this class. You never really know what a kid like Henderson will pull leading up to NSD, and Black apparently still has work to do in the classroom, but at least we’re in a position to compete with the talent already signed.
As long as Mullen brings in a top-five class every few years or so, Clemson has shown that you don’t have to get a top-3 class every cycle to beat the ‘Bama machine. They do it with excellent play at the QB position, they get their share of big time prospects, and they have quality depth across the board.
Florida is close.
Gators are creeping ever closer to the top 10. I am optimistic we close in the top 10. Of course it would really help the program if we close out with DT and Safety help.
Next 2 classes I’m hoping for bigger things - top 5 -
If we add Elam, MAR and Moore, it would put us at 7th in the 247 class rankings. There are other schools that will fill out their classes as well but that should be good enough for a top 10 finish.
If we sign those three, I could care less where we are ranked by a bunch of desk jockeys.
Exactly I don't get caught up in the final placement in recruiting. I will say Top 5 is all very close and only people's opinion is the difference. I look at are we Top 5 or Top 6-10 or Top 11-20. Those seem to be 3 different levels. I do know you don't want to be greater than 20 in recruiting for more than 2 years in a row or any year for that matter.
That and Dabo has had 3 top 10 teams if that is correct. Either he can spot talent others don’t se or he can( his staff) Venables is a badass can just flat out coach. I happen to believe it’s a bit of both. Dabo outcoached Satan flat out if you ask me on top of being better on both sides of the ball in the trenches. I’m going to the beach now to drink bear and hear the best jam band in pcola. Someone else will have to take overthe off topic posts until I wake up from my drunken stupor. Good day gators
This is a killer class as-is. But consider this...
Steele is a 5 star.
Black's ranking dropped once he sat out the year....so he's "underrated".
Wright peaked at 33 in the country on Rivals, which I believe is the highest peak in the entire class.
Weston and Marks are vastly underrated, and some think Weston is a legit top tier talent.
There is "hidden" elite/star-level quality at the top of the class, so I happen to think we're underrated at 11.
Just think Steele 5 star, Black would be a 5 star I believe if he would have played, and Wright was once a 5 star prior to his injury.
Tarquin was Top 100 in the spring as well.
What's the name of the band / venue? I live in Pace, maybe we'll run into each other some time.
I have a feeling we will look back on this class in 2 years, give or take , and see it as the watershed moment in the long overdue turn around of our beloved program
Tyler Mac Band with John Hart sitting in at Paradise. They play together at the Shaker on wed nights
Perhaps we can get them to play Oops Alley.
My brother (a UF grad) lives at Munson and was Director of Transportation for Santa Rosa County schools for about 25 years.
The disparity we see is due to the illusion that there is a reliable means of quantitatively measuring these players abilities. Steele is not all over the map. There are thousands of high school CBs in this class and the only two legit recruiting sites have him at #3 and #5. Do we really know if the #3 CB is any better than the #20 CB?
