Agree - Tea Leaves are reading that UF will win a couple of the high profile battles lost in previous years. I also hope that UF can hold unto a top 5 spot. Gators put themselves into the thick of the recruiting battles with this recent run.

Despite being told that Friday Night lights is in July by a previous poster, I don't think that was correct.

FNL is this weekend and I'm excited about that. For me CBN might just have enough momentum to grab another couple this weekend.

Then the big BBQ which IS in later July.

What has Gatorhead learned this cycle?
What is REALLY different and may be the catalyst for all this success?

No disrespect to the staff but what I have learned is the IMPORTANCE to sign a stud QB EARLY in a cycle so that kid can rally and recruit kids to the Gator Standard.

I see DJ's fingerprints all over this class. I think a strong case can be made for his committment to building this class.

Thats why I want and hope this kid is the primary signal caller as early as possible.

I've always felt that anything in the Top 7 in terms of both recruitment rankings and AP rankings is elite. If you're in that group, you have what it takes for on-field coaching and in-house development to keep you in striking range of taking all the marbles.

Hey, he'd appear 40 points higher in IQ if he just got rid of the dumb-and-dumber / Moe stooge haircut.

    #2 on ESPN behind UGA

Updated 2024 recruiting class rankings: Penn State, USC climb into top 10

We are ranked #2 in team recruiting rankings on ESPN behind UGA.

"The race behind Georgia is becoming increasingly intense with longtime rival Florida moving up to No. 2. The Gators' class is also led by a pair of five-stars in defensive end Jamonta Waller and QB D.J. Lagway, and they also recently added ESPN 300 wide receiver Jerrae Hawkins, who's diminutive but quick and can create after the catch."

I can’t see more than five or six more commits left to pick up. Maybe as few as four. Wondering where we’ll rank if the class tops out at 22 commits.

I'd be fine with that. Better than throwing ships at Plan B types instead of holding them for transfers.

lock McCray and Mincey up and we’re a lock for too 7 imo. To me, I’m more invested in the average player ranking

Interesting considering several UF Podcasters and figures are saying the following are NEEDS:

    2 Corners
    1 Safety
    2 Offensive lineman (tackles)
1 Reciever (Jerimiah Smith being the most coveted)

Not to mention 1 running back and 1 QB

IMO in UF sits on it's laurels at 17 the Gators won't sniff the top 5 or the top 10.

I have heard different numbers mentioned - many seem to like 22 H.S. recruits as the magic number. Not me.

If UF can sign 25, IMO they should provided they are real takes and not just "reaches".

    CBN will find a way.
Besides, 1 or 2 will work itself out.

I think someone on here gave the number and it would be a lot more than one or two.

Same here. I think we get two or three others but not expecting big names. More likely players that have been evaluated by our coaches and not necessarily the recruiting services. I think our average player ranking will hold right to the end. That would be quite an accomplishment. Expecting a lot of the signees to enroll in January which makes a huge difference.

Strange, I am of the opinion it is critical to sign as least one or two exceptional talents per cycle, especially on offense. Think Harvin types.

Considering UFs recruiting grounds that should not be a wish or unattainable.

UF just has not been able to sign guys like that since Urban.

Guy like J Smith - Everyone I listen to and I mean everyone, say he is a generational talent, outclassing everyone around him.

I think the modern game is recruiting nationally.

Not a fan of conclusively looking at recruiting this early, and it took a little longer than expected, but it really looks like Napier is cooking. He's doing exactly what he needs to do, and we likely won't see crazy good results this year, but it really looks like as of the Summer of 2023, there is a system in place to dramatically raise the floor of this program, which is just what the doctor ordered.

Would love to see us finish with those positions filled but the mocks I'm seeing on premium sites say otherwise.
