Could be the hitting coach we have long hoped and wished for? Has that been a strength of his? I don't know.

No question we've needed one as all too often during the Sully years we could go flat.

This fan will never knock a coach who stresses pitching but hitting is fun to watch.

We have some promising hitters. Let's see if good things happen.

What’s the bio read on Chuck? Is he a hitting coach?

I would imagine Sully is involved in all aspects.

For those attending practices etc - how have they divyed up the coaching responsibilities? Lars doing infield; Bell pitching BP? Does Chuck give hitting pointers? Etc?

    Defensively, it is pretty clear:

    Pitching: Sully, of course.
    Catchers: Lars
    Infielders: Jeroloman
    Outfielders: Bell (with DenDekker)

Hitting wise it seems to be a team approach.

Have not seen what they are doing this fall, but Jeroloman is a great infield guy and a very good hitting coach. IMO he is a perfect complement for the UF staff.

Got to admit I like what I'm hearing.

As I sit here in my beer induced daydream I picture us with a team batting average of over 300 for the season.

Since Sully took over we have hit 300 in only 3 seasons. The first two of those coming before the BBCOR bat restrictions. Last season only 2 SEC teams hit 300 as a team. We were 4th in team batting average in conference at 284.

I think we will hit better as a team this year. The bats have looked good against both UGA and USF. Last year's team was young and were still 4th in conference swinging. I hope the team ERA plummets! That is where we need to significantly improve!
