Jeroloman joins the Gators staff after stints at USF and Jacksonville, helping both teams earn NCAA Regional bids in recent years.
GAINESVILLE, Fla.—Assistant Coach Chuck Jeroloman has officially joined the Florida baseball coaching staff, head coach Kevin O'Sullivan announced on Wednesday.
Following a seven-year professional playing career, the 36-year-old Jeroloman entered the coaching ranks and has eight seasons of collegiate coaching experience, including six years in the state of Florida, helping lead both Jacksonville and USF to NCAA Regional berths. He is also familiar with the Southeastern Conference, having started 170 games at shortstop for Auburn from 2002-04 before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox.
"We're really excited to have Chuck join our staff," said Coach O'Sullivan. "Chuck has experience playing in the SEC and an extensive knowledge of the state of Florida, having coached and recruited in the state for 10 years."

Had a brother that played catcher for us, didn't he?
Brian....hoping he comes along with Chuck. Currently a volunteer asst at USF
Brian 2004-2006/ catcher—Starting Catcher on our 2005 CWS team.
What happens to Lars? Does he move on? Doesn't his wife work at UF?
Brian had one of my favorite stat lines as a true freshman in 2004 - .318/.448/.364 with one home run. The homer? A walk-off grand slam to beat Northwestern.
Yes, his wife is at UAA. He's just a volunteer asst, so that position is still likely his....but one has to wonder if not getting hired for a paid open slot might be a frustrating situation
Perhaps they will sweeten his percentage on camps?? Don’t know...
my first thought when I saw the hire info
Yeah, or I guess even sweeten his wife's deal...an indirect raise.
But it's a bump in his career path regardless. That's the tough part
We had some pretty good bats this year, but Jeroloman has a lot of experience in hitting and is a very good addition to our staff imo.
I knew that last name sounded familiar.
It’s great to have a coach like Sully running the program who gets “It” and does what he has to to keep our program on top. That’s why our baseball team is regularly in the CWS.
In another story he was said to be responsible for coaching -
Hitting, infielders, outfielders and baserunning!
Chuck seems like a rising star in the coaching profession.
No offense to Brad, but I like the infusion of young blood.
His wife is the athletic trainer for softball I think?
I hope that he can teach our guys how to bunt. While I think that the bunt is typically overused, it is an important skill in the late innings of a close game.
It’s kinda like a 4x4 truck—you don’t need it ‘til you do—
Young has a 4x4 in his repertoire. The rest of the team doesn't even have posi-traction.
