Thank God. He made so many stupid moves to appeal to conservatives who think Fox is too liberal. Out with the bad ideas. Bring back solid news reporting that isn’t afraid to be attacked by the right for being truthful. I’ll start watching again maybe.
I think wgb is saying has merit. Licht’s strategy appears to have been to change CNN’s reputation by appealing to conservatives. It appears not to have gone well.
CNN made their name by being an unbiased news first shop. That’s what they need to get back to, there are a ton of people out there starved for actual news and not cheerleading disguised as news. I mentioned it before though, he seemed to have no clue what he wanted the network to be. The night of the debt ceiling vote they were talking about Taylor Swift as the vote was happening, the whole 8p hour the night of the Trump indictment was a Mike Pence interview. like or dislike the indictment, it was a historic event and nothing in their prime hour of coverage. The almost comically ill conceived trump town hall, among other things. He also went out of his way to look like an idiot with his self serving interviews, which was pretty much the final straw. Good riddance.
That's literally what they thought they were doing though, because these morons think its about liberals vs conservatives. They were just like CNN is viewed as too liberal, need more conservatives. That's their thought process on "bias! "

Zazlav sucks too. He came over from Discovery Channel in that Warner/ATT spinoff/merger with Discovery. He’s the one i think most responsible for ruining HBO (excuse me… the streaming is called MAX now ).
