"In a deeply ironic twist to President Trump’s trade war with China, a giant Chinese company stands to make big money from the Trump administration’s bailout of the agricultural sector, which was necessitated by retaliatory tariffs from China on U.S. foods."

Trump's Bailout of U.S. Farmers Hit by His Trade War With China? It May End Up Aiding a Giant Chinese Company

$12 Billion bailout isn't bad enough, some of that US Taxpayer money could (it hasn't yet) go to China. You know it is stupid when a Senator Grassley (R-Iowa) calls you out. By the way, he is also getting cash from the bailout.

There is a chance something will eventually be achieved, but I have to say that right now "Trade wars are good and easy to win" is just another line in a long line of stupid.

'may', 'could', 'it hasn't yet'. Talk about a non-story.

Yeah, that liberal Chuck Grassley agrees it is a non story. Guess you missed that part.

It will be a story if it happens. Until then it isn't.

Fortune magazine disagrees, as does Grassley. While he is kind of a turd, it is easier to make Smithfield ineligible and not give them the cash then it would be to get the cash back after the fact.
Actually it would have been easier not to give away 12 billion to anyone but trump already screwed that pooch.

Exposing this sort of stupidity publicly and getting people talking about it may be the thing that prevents it.
