Well, at least Trump has now reversed his reversal on Huawei, but left the door open for a triple reversal ...

We are not going to do business with Huawei. ... And I really made the decision. It’s much simpler not doing any business with Huawei. ... That doesn’t mean we won’t agree to something if and when we make a trade deal,” Trump said.

CNBC: Trump says US is not going to do business with Huawei, not ready to make a trade deal with China

Edit: Nevermind, the Commerce Department just "clarified" that the US will continue to allow sales to Huawei, but not allow purchases. So, nothing changed, we are still doing some business with Huawei. Not sure why Trump made that false announcement.

White House trade adviser says Chinese tariffs are not hurting US

The stupid runs deep in this administration. This is what you get when u retain only those people whose sole skill is sucking up.

“White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Sunday that the Trump administration's tariffs on China are not hurting U.S. consumers or famers, despite widespread warnings from other economists.”

"We're in a situation where consumers have not been hurt, China is bearing the entire burden," Navarro said on CNN's "State of the Union."

The sad part is that some people hurt by the tariffs believe this.

Trump blames companies impacted by his trade war

“If the Fed would cut, we would have one of the biggest Stock Market increases in a long time. Badly run and weak companies are smartly blaming these small Tariffs instead of themselves for bad management...and who can really blame them for doing that? Excuses!” Trump wrote on TwitterFriday.

Trump retweeted these yesterday. Not sure if he is getting frustrated on China’s waiting him out since it appeared his administration isn’t a slam dunk to get reelected. I might expect no progress.

Did you guys catch the news a couple of days ago that Trump wanted to double tariffs on China but his advisers and several CEOs called him and talked him out of it. The some think Trump was willing to tank the economy to get revenge on China.

Here is a highly slanted opinion piece on the topic:

Report: Trump Wanted to Obliterate the U.S. Economy to Get Revenge on China

It should be interesting to see how Trump responds if the US economy really starts to tank to the point where his reelection could be in jeopardy. Trump being Trump meaning that he never admits an error, could insist that in the end China will capitulate and persist with his trade war against China regardless of the consequences or alternatively he could claim that China had capitulated even though it didn't, also keeping in mind that the truth is completely relevant insofar as Trump is concerned, and rollback the tariffs as a last ditch attempt to rescue the economy and save his chance of being reelected.
