The unfortunate thing is that under the contract he signed, he will be forced to spend most of the season in the G League. Next year will be his big opportunity to get a decent NBA contract.

Cheese’s ORPM (offensive real plus minus) for point guards is 54th out of 85 point guards. His DRPM (defensive real plus minus) is 2nd out of 85 point guards. Overall, his RPM is 9th out of 85 point guards. His league-wide RPM is 27th out of 432 players.

Cheese had been playing so well that Washington just released him. Go figure.

Is that “released” as in released or as in sent back to the G league?

Released to free up roster spot for incoming big man Anzejs Pasecniks, Chiozza will return to Washington’s G League affiliate if his contract goes unclaimed on waivers

If Cheese goes to Washington’s G League team and is no longer on a 2-way contract, I would think that he could then sign with any other NBA team. Does that make sense?

I was up in DC a week ago and watched CC play with the Wizards. Played good solid BB.

A couple of hours later later switched over to NBATV to get some highlites. I caught the very end of the Go Go's G league game. They were reviewing if the last shot at the buzzer should count. It meant if the team lost by one or lost by three. While this huge decision was ongoing, the camera flashed the Go Go players and in the middle was CC. Then the commentator added that it was nice that CC had shown up to support his X-teammates since he had just played a game.

    Sounds like he is popular.

Does that mean he won't have the G-league restrictions/requirements of his previous contract?

Nope. He still will have those restrictions because he signed or is signing a new 2-way contract with the Nets. However, it is possible that the 45-day NBA limit might start from zero again because it’s a new contract.
