USF did this in anticipation of our trip there in 2021. Beating us there means everything for them. Can’t have a brand new coach. So they fired Strong a year ahead of schedule.

Some coaches are best suited to coordinator position and I believe that applies to Strong. Glad he made his money though!

What a brutal career choice. Feel bad for him, hope he lands on his feet as a position coach somewhere.

I'm sure he will. He has a lot of experience and it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up as a DC in the SEC

We need to hire him to any position he wants other than head coach. Give him associate head coach title and pay him above market price. Just get him

I believe that Charlie can be a head coach. Some of you guys are forgetting what a good job Charlie did in Louisville a few years ago. I believe that anyone going into thatTexas job was getting into a major dumpster fire. He may have to take an assistant coach job (like a lot of former head coaches have done) for a season or two and that he will get another head coach job again.

I think Teddy Bridgewater made Coach Strong millions. Miami U screwed up not getting Bridgewater in due to coaching change or whatever. A good or better QB is half of your team. Bridge helped greatly get Charlie the Tex job where he failed. Then he got the USF job where he also failed. He's 59 years old and has made $20-30 million. I'm sure he can keep working if he wants but he can also move to The 7th Arrondissement in Paris, or Padgets in Bermuda or Pacific Grove, CA. Good guy by all accounts and I, for one, wish him the best.
