Sad news. Never really was into his music, but he was so good at what he did that his music is known by all regardless of how much you followed him or what generation you were from. RIP.

Wow, what terribly sad news. Charlie Daniels was a great (real) country music performer, a damn good man and patriot who loved his country. He stomped on that golden fiddle and crushed it. RIP Charlie, you will be missed.

Saw him play in the O'Connell Center. Devil Went Down to Georgia stands out in my memory of that show.

The Devil went down to Georgia... and he stayed there... hired Smart to coach their team...

R.I.P., Mr. Daniels... a true musical legend.

Im sort of beside myself about this news today.

Daniels' loss to Country music is on the same level of Chuck Berry's loss to Rock and Roll imo.

Charlie Daniels was literally one of the first artists I actually remember listening to when I was young, as in about 6 years old. That was the year after he released "Trudy" in 1970.

83 is not a bad life, and he had tremendous success too. God Bless you Charlie, for all the great musical memories.

He said some racist shitty things as he got older. It was sad to hear considering how much I loved The Devil Went Down to Georgia as a kid. But I still can appreciate his music. A person that can rock a fiddle can sure get down.

I am pretty sure I saw them in the O'Dome. But, I definitely saw a lot of shows in the bandshell, too, so, it's possible.

Lolll. Now would be a good time to point out I was recently knocked out hitting my head on a big ass boulder and got a bad concussion. Still trying to unscramble these eggs
