This is how I'd like to imagine his face while answering the question:
I mean Patrick nix had a mediocre college career that ended 24 years ago, why would he know about him?
Because Nix ripped our heart out with the TD pass to Sanders and I'll never forgive him for it. And may Bo pay dearly for the sins of his father!
I was there. Jeez, I'm old.
I hate Auburn more than any other team. They have ripped our hearts out way too many times. In fact, they beat us the first time we ever held the number 1 ranking in 1994. Spurrier had us chanting we're number 1 that game. Didn't last long. Let's crush 'em.
We were ranked #1 in 1985 for a week prior to the uga game.
We actually beat Auburn--who was in the top 10-- that week and the #1 team (I can't remember who) lost so we jumped to #1.
I was a kid but I remember clearly the uga fans chanting 'one whole week' as we left the stadium.
I believe in 94 we were preseason #1 and held it until the AU game.
Let us burn them both to ground. Then salt the earth with their remains as the Romans did Carthage.
I stand corrected on both counts. Football time for me began in 1989 as a freshman. You are talking B.S. (Before Spurrier) time. Ha! I remembered that Auburn game as our first #1. Either way, I hate those bastards.
Ugh,... the '94 game..... had just bought a used Chevy S-10 pickup the week before... my cousin Dave ( a UF grad from '82 ) and I were cruising up to the game and my engine blew just before we were about to the southern edge of Payne's Prairie on I-75.... We limped it on the shoulder to the north bound rest area and then walked into town. Went to the wing place on the corner of 34th and Archer road, can't remember the name of it?..... Drank lots of beer and we were deflated after Sanders caught that Nix TD pass... Put a signed dollar bill on their wall of dollar bills, with the inscription, "Little Breakdown On Payne's Prairie"... Walked across the street to the ABC and got more beer and a styro cooler and ice. Called a tow truck place from Apopka, BJ's towing... Were talking with the driver on the way back and he was actually the father of the current punter from Ohio State, at the time, Bret Bartholomew, from Apopka High School. That game has a bad memory... True story. Lets Beat Auburn good!
93 AND 94 — right? The small Bowden was coach. In 94 we were going to exact our revenge. :b
Me too. Can't even believe it has been 25 years.
I started in '89 as well. Stayed until '97. I wasn't leaving until we won a National Championship.
CJ’s was the wing joint
That was like Bill Belichick’s response on Analytics. Does not care what someone did 20 years ago, as does not impact today
We wouldnt defend that damn TE over the middle that entire game. Absolutely killed us in that game. Literally a couple of incompletes to that TE play on third down and we'd have won that game.
Gilmore was playing defense on that last pass too. If he'd have just intentionally interfered for a flag, we still may have won.
Wasn't the '93 game the one that wasn't televised because of Auburn's probation? And they broadcasted it live on a Jumbotron (remember those?) in the Swamp? I was there as a student.
Auburn is one of those teams that has our number...
Go Gators! Beat Auburn into the ground. Show us what you have this Saturday.
