Anyone know anything about this kid? Tancey Richardson Fort Scott CC..5'11" 192 put of Aiken, SC.

Commited to K St at the moment but there seems to be some buzz on his feet about UF.

This staff is certainly scouring the JUCO ranks. They just offered a new DT.

Yeah, I saw your post. I'm fine with it. Mullen just offered a WR from California. Any thoughts of whether it's a good sign or bad (watkins)

It's a good sign...we have NO WR commits right now! We need 2-4 honestly (I think we sign as many as 12-14 more kids in this class, if they can find that many they like).

I'm also good w/ the JUCO's. Tells me he wants to win quickly. But we really need to get another freshman LB and DL in this class (hopefully more than one DL).

No wr committed totally offset by the addition of Grimes and Jefferson.
And no way they have room to sign 12-14 more with 15 already in

You scour the JUCO ranks for One of Two Possible Reasons:
1 - You aren't likely to get the Frosh you want, or
2 - You really need some experience at specific positions (e.g. Eddie Pinerio).

    It's NEVER A GOOD SIGN!

I think you are also looking to restore depth at certain positions and class balance by taking JUCOs or a grad transfer. When you have injuries at positions that result in medical redshirts, transfers out due to lack of playing time, academic or misconduct departures, or anticipate some early departures for the pros, you need some JUCO depth for balance. Can’t all be part of a large freshman class, particularly on the lines, as they lack the size, strength and conditioning to be effective right out of HS

I partly agree with you. While I do agree with INGATORSWETRUST your comments are also relevant. If a school has an established coaching staff and good connections through their high school ranks then yes signing JuCos are a concern. But if you have a coaching change with a high number of transfers and more difficulties signing your first class, then a few JuCos can help with the transition and experience level on the team. I certainly agree most JuCos don't become big time players but they can plug in as needed backups. In today's college football world a new coach is expected to turn it around quickly. Yes if we could recruit like Alabama, Ohio State and now Georgia then signing JuCos would normally hinder our hopeful level of play.

I disagree completely that it's "never a good sign". Sure, preferably you land twenty 5-star HS studs....but we're living in the real world and we're not Alabama either. You go to JUCO to fill immediate needs (look at Bama's roster, they always have 2 to 4, Buggs was a stud this year). Keep in mind too that Mullen just spent 9 years in JUCO Haven (the state is full of JUCO's). He's very familiary w/ them and feels comfortable filling needs w/ JUCO's. Sure, some of them don't pan out....but the same goes for HS kids and transfers. I'll gladly take a 6'4 280lb DE who wants in our class....

I'm ok with JUCO's during a transition class. We have poor class balance in some positions, so this makes sense on many levels.
