I don’t have any idea how they manage the size of the bags for a position in great need like DT - and still keep it in perspective opposite the bags for DJ, Sapp, Banks, Slaughter, and several other guys absolutely critical to our success. I have to believe the priority on roster management and harmony is more a limiting factor than simply the availability of the NIL money.

it's some of both. I'm told they have a set amount for each position group and also a set number of slots for each position group. If that is correct, then you have set limits on what can be promised a kid based on those factors. The issue becomes, can you go over on a certain prospect and if you do, how does that effect the other members in that group. I am glad I don't make those decisions.
What the House settlement is intended to do is level the playing field with a quasi-cap of money, similar to a salary cap. Each school then decides how that money is divided among the sports they field teams for. Most will dedicate the majority to the revenue producing sports, however you will see certain schools throw money into a niche sport such as Miss State may put more in baseball than others etc. Will it be challenged and will some schools revert back to bagmen for an advantage? Of course they will.

I think we have a smart, reasoned, balanced approach. But there are many schools playing a different game and making their own rules and drowning others with cash. It's why pro sports have rules and limits like caps and trades and drafts. CFB is a mutant monster from the Island Of Dr. Moreau.

Itll not affect boosters throwing bags outside the system.

I would rather pay extra for a transfer who has shown what they can do than a high school kid.

True. It's expensive to pay a guy well for a few seasons then he transfers because he isn't going to contribute, or could but smells a better pay day somewhere else.

For a few impact players to fill voids caused by recruiting failures, the best teams develop most of their squad, no allstar teams are winning it all.

It's a messed up system, but the clowns have tried to just portal a championship and it's not turned out so well
