I know we played sloppy and I expected that the first half, but all first games are sloppy.

We can improve on dumb penalties and tackling and we have the coaches in place to do so.

I think we went in overconfident and played down to Miami level.

It was a rivalry game and they are usually close, plus Miami is talented.

I know we got a lot to work on, but a wins a win.

And Miami played their arses off. When punched in the mouth, and down on their luck the Gators did not fold.
    Take that and improve.
    Yes, happy.

This could have easily ended up like the Kentucky game from last year. Glad we pulled out the win.

    Myself?

Im ecstatic with the win. Doesn't feel like a loss at all to me either.

Regardless, I'd rather just be blown out by 30 points instead of losing by 3 points on the final play after playing a gut-wrenching close game all night.

The last team I'd want to be in two weeks is Tenn. Martin.

This is a wash in my opinion. Okay somebody won and kind of didn't also. All the reasoning in the world cannot shake the all around ugly of having 10 sacks and barely pulling this out.
It was like a clinic on trying to find a loaf of bread in a bad part of town. Oh you know it's there but just getting to the checkout things could get ugly fast too. Only as you are safely on your way do you say "I was really successful buying that bread considering the drug sales and gangs everywhere". Victory is had but one hopes to never have to do that again. Just like this game.

This is an opening game that coaches love. A win against a tough opponent, but enough coachable mistakes so they can keep on the team. I personally assume that over the next two weeks there’s gonna be a lot of tackling drills.

Oh...and they didn't cover the spread. Now I only have 700 Swamp Gas dollars to gamble with!

Miami can be happy. They are unranked. We was the #8 team so at least by the time we play again all the talk of us being a Top 10 team will be a thing of the past because we won't be by the time week 2 comes about.

Mullen has beaten our two big State of Florida rivals. I can be happy with that

I want to post in the positive thread: we were by far the better team. Our coaching pregame was far superior. However, in-game our coaching was suspect. Our coaches are very good and smart and will adjust, so count that as a positive (when a wr screen works every time and the look is there, why not run it until they stop it?!!! Same for Miami, run the wildcat vs us the whole game until we stop it, these o coordinators failed for both teams). I trust that will be fixed.

We were incredibly unlucky/had unlikely things happen at the most inopportune times and we won. Positive. Need to stop commiting dumb penalties and protect the ball, our coaching history says this will be fixed.

To the bad news, our play calling and qb play was bad. We won despite this.

So the team that lost can be happy, but the winners shouldn't? That's a very sad perspective on things, and I hope you don't take that with you in the rest of your life.

We beat Miami, so tonight I enjoy the win baby! Enough time to worry about all the warts before our next big game, and complaining isn't gonna do one lick of good for anyone.

Just saying Miami played like a ranked team, if we are the #8 team in the country. I tell you what, you want to see a team effort despite losing the game, go watch my son's HS team last night. Down 27-0 at the half against a team with lines roughly 100lbs bigger per man, gave everything in the 2nd half and lost the game on the last play dropping a pass in the EZ on the last play. Final score - 27-20. They gave maximum effort, made all of the tackles, had 130 lb freshmen LBers make open field tackles and sacks against running backs 70lbs heavier.

Fact is, we showed up expecting Miami to roll over and play dead and we got punched in the mouth and almost got knocked out. What can we be happy with? Defensive line came to play. No key injuries. Kicking game. Special teams altogether. That's about it. Yep, that's it. But who knows, Miami could win every game from now on and be in the CFP and we look back and say maybe it wasn't a bad win after all.
