Give our coaches 3 years at UF to develop relationships with kids/families from 10th grade. Give us the opportunity to develop real relationships with HS coaches that attend our coaching clinics, where we have visited their HS, spoken with their kids, and established friendships and we will be on an even playing field. Give us facilities that are the same as TN, Bama, Auburn, TAM by 2021-2022 and we will be fine. The stability of a coach in place and continuity of kids in the same system should be very helpful. Our OL, DL and CBs have each had 3 different position coaches in the last 3 years. Stability in those areas should be helpful in the future. Future is bright. May take another 2 years. We will need to be patient with some ups and downs along the way, as this was really Dan’s first recruiting class of kids that truly fit his system (12 months on job) and he was trying to solve a depth problem on the OL this cycle. Go Gators!

If I remember correctly there was a FB/LB a few years ago that turned down a UF scholarship to take a Lacrosse scholarship at University of Pennsylvania. Chose Ivy league academics over FB.

Have to respect kids who have their priorities already set early in life.

Maybe it was stylistic reasons not to take him but Howell is a pure stud. Jones is very agile and strong but his arm cannot hold a candle to Howell's. He was a huge miss for FSU and was exactly what they needed. Thank you Mack Brown.

Trust. Recruits are fed so many promises from staffs. I believe there is a good chance that soon coaches and parents will see CDM and UF are a great place for their kids no matter what else is being said by other staffs. That hopefully helps us with our in state recruits. Kids will visit and hear from almost all our players how great it is to be at UF. I think that reputation is surfacing facilities or not.

I know that winning is important and so are facilities and those things seem to be in place or coming as well. The whole enchilada. La enchilada enterra.

Thanks Candy, you are the main reason why I come to the recruiting forum.

If he's a likely future NFLer, I recommend UF over Stanford. If he's more likely to be a business tycoon or scientist, then Stanford.

Thank you for all your work. You had mentioned you would delve into M.A.R. during your wrap up. Since he was on the offensive side of the ball what’s the 411?

MAR was a long shot for UF in the beginning. His brother was a Cane and the Canes felt like IMO that they should get MAR just for that reason. A couple of problems for UM.
    1. They were loaded more at RB than any other position.
    2.Coaching change
    3. Gus had got in on MAR and made him a priority.
    4. Some animosity from the family in the was the brother was treated.
    5. Cane fans continually bashed the family on cane forums.
    UF enters the picture.
MAR had a great visit and was strongly considering the Gators. CDM pulled out all the stops with the Helicopter visit. The whole week following the visit from CDM, word was MAR would sign with UF. I was even told this by my contact in Miami. That is when I said 3 for 4 on who UF would get on that last day. Even on the last day when everyone started changing CB's to Auburn, I held out late because someone close to the family said it was all smoke and MAR was going to sign with UF. It was not until the morning of NSD that I got word that UF had been informed he was signing with Auburn. TBH, I could see why he may have felt he could play RB sooner at Auburn. Time will tell.

CRL..09 percent of HSplayers will get to play a down in the NFL.

Likely? No one know. Give my kid a chance at ANY degree at Stanford if A 3 4 star he goes, 100%

Go take a look at their commits. A friends son is there. Unreal nearly guaranteed high end high paying job for life after football

Nothing's guaranteed. If you're smart and a hard worker you can get great jobs with a UF degree. And I know the odds but if my kid is Peyton Manning, I don't send him to Stanford unless he's a future theoretical physicist more so than future NFL HOFer.

CRL, Good for you. Why don’t you look and see how many tech companies are run by Stanford grad’s.

Take a look at the recruiting rankings for Stanford. 37 drafted in the NFL since 2010.A slew of first rounders.

As of 2018, UF is 3rd Stanford is 11 on list of current players in the league.

You sound more like a Stanford fan than a Gator. Just sayin. I still prefer UF. Even if I didn't play football.
