Stingley, Steele, and Hunter , could be a big weekend. Parents coming too!
Pull out all the stops. Coach English just may get Chris back for the pie to the face.
Riley Simonds also coming on OV this weekend. Big 320 pound OG from Buford, GA
There may be some wait and see on Mullen's first year from some of these guys. If he has an exciting offense and we are competitive in all games, we may get some flips before signing day.
He's projected to go to Va Tech, right? He looks like another McDowell type, which I have no problem with. If we can get these kids in the program, redshirt, grow, learn, etc we should have a good group in 2 to 3 years. But, I'd much rather us land the high 4-stars like Gouraige (or a 5-star). I know, I'm greedy!
I have heard that Hunter will not be in Gainesville this weekend. He had someone is his family pass away.
Trey and Umstead Sanders at Bama this weekend
Candy - Thank you for this. How is the buzz on the trail with high school coaches and recruits? Is UF slowly getting its recruiting mojo back? And how does it compare to SOW? I really like Mullen and the staff he has so I was wondering if that translates to the trail. Thanks again
"Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born."
FWIW, Mark Richt continues killing it in recruiting. He currently has 3 STA kids commited in Anthony Solomon (LB), Jason Munoz (DL) (coached by Jason Taylor), Aubrey Huff (LB)
I imagine he'll pick up 2-3 more STA kids. With another being a 2020 Kid.
Lot of people knocked their hiring him but I always thought he was THE perfect guy to save that program. Still though I can't understand the appeal playing for empty stadiums and crappy facilities. If we can't out recruit them now we never will.
The only thing I would say about that is, in general, I don't mind if we are getting top 10 guys. Can a top 10 TE block and catch, hope so. If the system works that level of player should be just fine.
On a side note, I don't get my hopes up for California players, even West-of-Mississippi players are long shots imo. I'm hoping for a solid enough season that some players we never expected jump on board. IMHO it will be a bad sign if we get to January and reports are that our coaches are spending a lot of time on the West coast. To me that means they felt like they are spinning their wheels in our primary geographical areas and are trying to pull rabbits. But we are a long way off from that and plenty of football to be played.
He's always been a great recruiter. My question is how does he do it... if Richt can do it we should be able to as well. It doesn't hurt that the ACC has played for multiple NCs I suppose but Richt and his staff have never. What are they selling and how are they inspiring kids? We make a big deal out of facilities and I think that matters but we must be light years of miami in facilities and environment. I'm sure their recruiting visits do not feature stadium visits!
Needless to say it is both annoying and disheartening that fsu is ranked 5th with 10 commits. Hoping we and miami thump them. I could be naive but I really think it will help our recruiting.

Zipperer is a goner?
Richt owns Florida recruiting right now.
No, that would be a "gonerer".
We make a big deal out of facilities, waiting to see what a new coaches office looks like, and relationships… Meanwhile other coaches like Kirby, Mark, and others knock it out of the ballpark in there first and second year.
About closing. We've heard need blank years to build relationships. Need facility upgrades etc. gotta close and with the new siding. Sooner is better than later as well and I'm rolling early is good stuff.
How did we lose Zipperer? Last year Cleveland Reed now Keon. Local kids projected to be Gators and then in one weekend Canes steal em away.
No good way to spin this. Gotta get Florida kids.
Oh and Taggart right there. We are a very distant third in state.
Kid does need to learn how to spell zipper
