Last year was brutal and this year looks eerily similar. Thoughts? I've always been a huge Braves fan and it seems like forever ago since they were this good. It feels like this is LA's decade though.

Disclaimer: I'm a St. Louis Cardinals fan....but I follow the Braves, especially in the playoffs.

Last night was a huge missed opportunity. Braves had them on the ropes until the very end, and let them back in. It feels like this may be a turning point in this series. I hope and pray that Atlanta can take care of business....but we'll see.

We all know that you can kinda throw season-long stats to the back burner come playoffs because at least IMHO the team that hits their peak performances during the playoffs is usually going to be the winner.

That said I have to say as far as the Braves go their weaker links for this season have been their 3rd and 4th starters and their bullpen.

I hope all aspects of the Braves team will get focused and hot throughout the remainder of the playoffs. It was good to see Freddie get his swing back on track last night.

Braves can win the Series. The question is Will They? They blew a 3-1 lead last year.

Dale Murphy, Bobby Cox, Phil Niekro, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, and Chipper Jones. One of the best selfies ever. If only Hank Aaron was in there!

Hell yeah! The Murph was the man. I would search out the sports section (in the 80's) and go right to the stats page to see if Murphy or Guerrero (LA) had taken the leads in the HR - RBI - Runs cats and my all time favorite baseball stat, the game winning rbi, every single day. I was addicted to those stats back then. Those two went at it for most of the decade.

Pre-internet and having to check the stats in the newspaper. I forgot all about that. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Since the Dodgers won the World Series in 1988, they are 6-18 in the postseason on the road against east coast teams, 0-7 in the NLCS ('08 Philly, '09 Philly, '21 Atlanta), 0-2 in the World Series ('18 Boston). Probably not significant, I just thought it was interesting.

Not entirely sure why 1988 was chosen as that World Series was against the A’s but interesting nonetheless.

And that Gibson HR was epic…. The trot. The arm pump. And it being off Eck!!

I could have said since they added the division series in MLB (1995), but I was just looking to include a point of separation that existed in addition to the playoff format change.

As much as I want the Dodgers to come back and win this series I think it’s over (Urias is just a shell of himself right now). Glad the Dodgers won it all last year but it’s not happening again. Think they just used up all they had to get past the Giants and the Braves are a young, hungry team ready to make amends for last year’s disappointing series loss when leading the Dodgers 3-1. Lightning won’t strike twice for the Dodgers. At least the Dodgers ended the Giants’ postseason ;) (Please don’t let any other Georgia team get a championship…. Looking at you, UGA o_O)

Well, if you’re a Braves fan-that was just about as poor a game as we could have. Talk about falling flat on your face—

Time to take the field back in Atlanta and answer the bell!

If you’re like me it’s big fingers-the disagree is right next to the agree. I always try to double check it before I post.;)
