Caeleb Dressel Tabbed SEC Male Athlete of the Year
Caeleb Dressel collects another prestigious honor.
    Chad Smith UF

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Recent University of Florida graduate Caeleb Dressel was awarded the honor of the 2017-18 Roy F. Kramer Southeastern Conference Male Athlete of the Year, the league announced Friday. Dressel and the female winner, South Carolina women's basketball athlete A'ja Wilson, were selected by a vote of the league's athletics directors.

Dressel is the first UF male recipient since Tim Tebow won his second honor in 2009. The Gators had three female athletes win the honor in consecutive years, Bridget Sloan (2016), Lauren Haeger (2015) and Hannah Rogers (2014).

This kid is an animal. Best athlete on campus since Timbow was roaming the sidelines.

To get a 17.63 on a fifty and 39.90 on a 100!? It's beyond sick. Fastest recorded human ever. He's kind of like the Usain Bolt of Swimming. Scary fast.

I'm old, short and slow. But if we raced and I did a 25 yard sprint and he did a 50 it'd be really close...HA!

There are some stud Gators now...

He kind of makes up for our other Gator swimmer who embarrassed the crap out of us in the Olympics....(stud with questionable decision making skills)

    Go Gators.

It probably would be close, but eventually he may ask you to get in the pool. :D

In only makes sense that in a Swampy State like Florida, a Swimmer would be the top Male Athlete.

    Congratulations Mr Dressel

Is that with you running and him swimming?
Can’t wait to see him dominate the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

His times astound me. I was a swimmer in the '70's and I think then the world record for the 50 was right at 20 seconds, and the 100 was right at 45 seconds.

To be that much faster in such a short distance is mind numbing. Dressel is a once in a lifetime athlete.
