Ha! Early leader for Worst Idea Ever This Year.
I thought many here thought highly of Christian Robinson, a coach we should NOT let go. Of course we don't know what really goes on behind the scenes, but just interesting this thread seems to be like "see ya!" when I thought he was considered a strong recruiter for us and before this year, no glaring issues at linebacker?
I'm mixed on how I feel with him leaving. We can upgrade but with who? We cant expect former DCs to come here for a position. I'd have to believe it's gotta be a coordinator or HBC position to land some of the guys I've read.
Would be a good option.
Or maybe another LB coach who has coached with Charlie Strong at 3 different stops, been his ace recruiter, and has deep ties to the state of Florida?
Evidently C-Rob staying per thread in Awesome recruiting
Nothing makes sense anymore. Is he a good>great LB coach? Would CDM build a more competitive staff with a new LB coach? Is he staying because he’s a great coach or because CDM doesn’t have a better coach available? Who was responsible for what many cited as mediocre LB play?
Which asks the question "Why?"
Well, they did save $4 million cutting Harbad's salary.
Michigan just hired the Ravens linebacker coach to be there D.C. I’m curious if he is staying. Or if he’ll be reassigned to a different position group.
If he's staying, thats good to hear just from the fact that we convinced someone to stay when another program was pursuing him.
Mo $$$, he had just received a raise and new contract back in Feb.
Sources: Florida Gators seeking to retain Christian Robinson
Yeah, I'm not sure I dislike him... He was okay, IMHO. But in the future can we please stop hiring coaches that had anything to do with the mutts. It seems that we have bad luck with those fellers.
looks like Urban screwed Dan Mullen by offering Ash and Strong the job! Lost the chance to upgrade the coaching staff.
That's what jerks do when they feel jilted.
Maybe, it is because. We will have Diwun and the Chief next year.
Do we need to worry about Jeremiah Williams now?
"Robinson is considered one of Florida’s better recruiters, landing five-star linebacker Derek Wingo
in the 2020 class and recently signing top-100 overall recruit Jeremiah Williams."
Florida Gators assistant football coach Christian Robinson to leave for Michigan (gatorsports.com)
Florida: Indications are Christian Robinson has chosen to remain at Florida over joining Jim Harbaugh’s staff at Michigan. Dan Mullen, Todd Grantham and squad continue interviews for their open safeties position sources tell FootballScoop.
He's already signed...if that means anything anymore.
