Meh. I feel like Tulane is a harder lift than a directional school where you can take all LSUs non qualifiers.

 

Muschamp was great at getting angry on the sideline and showing intensity. Too bad that doesn’t correlate to wins and on-field performance.

We got bamboozled by Stricklin. He led us to believe we would be getting one type of coach, and then doubled down with the same type of coach he just fired. Until he is gone and the UAA has a change of heart, this will not get better. Stricklin cares more about the money and image than putting out a winning product.

 

Thats like saying shes not quite as fat.

He is an ex SEC linebacker, so he won't take any crap from anyone, but he needs to reel it in a bit and keep his wits about himself.

Tulane has admissions standards, most SEC, Sunbelt and AAC schools do not.

He does not have an easy job. None of this is personal. I don't hate Sumrall, just like I don't hate Billy Napier, Dan Mullen, Jim McElwain, or Will Muschamp. None of this is personal.

People are only questioning whether he has proven that he is ready for the Florida job. The answer to that is no. Does that mean he is not ready for the Florida job? No. It only means that we lack the data to be confident in hiring him.

And I think Florida fans' patience is running pretty thin at this point, but there's a damned good reason for that. Every football hire that Stricklin has made has inspired less confidence than the last. And that is not just because of Sumrall's failed predecessors. Each football head coach Stricklin has hired has been less attractive than the last.

It's possible Sumrall proves us all wrong, and I'm really hoping he does. But I just don't see how a coach with that profile and resume is going to do it at Florida.

 

You honestly don't see the similarities between Sumrall and Napier?

 

Actually Muschamp was a DB and he never thought UF should have an explosive offense. Just saying.

I should have a million $$ too...saying it and doing it are two different things. We just $hitcanned a coach that said everything he would do, but just never actually got around to doing it.
